OldRam - well stated! :thumb:

Once again, both of these teams' fans have way too much CLASS to be bashing the other's coaches or kids and I dont think anyone is interpreting the zeal & fervor as that at all - everyone on here seems to be simply "great fans" for their respective teams - you gotta admire that! :D ...both teams DESERVE to be here and I see this game as being a good one regardless of the weather or field conditions because they run similar offenses and the defenses are aggressive and fly to the ball!

:thumb: :thumb: Great post EE, both teams are VERY well coached or they wouldn't be in this position. he last thing that a kid (at any school) needs to hear or read is a bunch of people bashing their coach.

I have heard there will be a Community Pep Rally

at 4pm at the field entrance for the Ram faithful.

Everyone welcome and come in orange!!

also AM Radio 1080 will be broadcasting live there

from 4pm until 5:15pm.

NCC fans have a safe trip down. Long trip with

wet roads.

:thumb: :thumb: on the community pep rally and tailgate party, this will be great for all involved! As for the radio 1080am I again want to express my appreciation for their coverage of the Rams ALL season long. I have made it a point to do business with the sponsors of the broadcast when the situatons arise. As for the weather, from our forecast at noon here today the rain is supposed to be cleared out by Friday afternoon. (Thurs. ev. actually) Here is wishing everyone from NCC/NKY a safe trip to and from Raceland Friday.

:thumb: It is good to see the community staying involved and showing their support for the Rams. The student section should be out in full force as well, they do a great job in supporting all Raceland athletic events.

Good luck on friday Raceland, Like to see you go all the way! :thumb:

With rain in the forecast and possibly a muddy field, which team does this benefit?

Raceland defense likes a muddy field. We have played some of our best defense in the rain.

Depends how you look it.

One, it makes it harder to pass so that would seem to hurt Raceland.

Two, it could lead to more turnovers which would seem to benefit Raceland.

Three, in muddy conditions you better be able to run the ball but IMO Raceland wasn't going to run it anyway, so maybe that hurts NCC but then again maybe not.

NCC has vast experience in bad weather games this year and last. The regular season Bellevue game last year was played in a pouring rain mud fest that prompted the playoff games to be moved to Holmes. The exception was the Somerset game which was played in wet dirt conditions at Newport. Although on turf, the State Final was played in miserable conditions.

This year the Ryle and Dayton games were played in terrible conditions with the Dayton game being stopped at the half and never resumed.

Last week, the Rams forced seven turnovers and came away with a 20-13 win against Lexington Christian, the only team that beat them during the regular season.

In that game, Raceland's first touchdown was set up by a fumble recovery and its second one came on a blocked punt return.

"That game last week was crazy," Schneider said. "We need to take care of the ball and not put them in position where they can get those kinds of touchdowns."

Who is Raceland's head coach? Whatever happened to Bill Tom Ross? He was a good coach! I heard he was having some health problems, I hope he is all right.

Raceland's Head Coach is Randy Vanderhoof.

Bill Tom Ross travels around helping out Coach's and has written a couple of books. I believe his health has gotten better since he has gotten out of Coaching. Much less stress. :thumb:

But they do have one of the most valuable plots of land in Newport

The plot with all the houses??? NewCath didn't own that, the Diocese sold it about 12 years ago. It was a nice surprise for many people in the community. It's a curious thing. The land was sold, and, if I remember correctly, NewCath didn't see much of it. Seems that 12 years ago, northern Campbell Co. was not exactly a priority for the Diocese.

bear TRR is correct on Coach Ross, he has written one book that I know of on defense in h.s. football ( I can't think of the name of the book right now). Bill Tom suffered a stroke a few years ago and from what I understand is doing much better now. He (Ross) was an excellent football coach and he and his family remain in our prayers.

Should be a great game with Newport coming out on top 31-17

NCC's school website is outstanding.

Congrats to whomever is in charge of that.
