I think Kyler should win the trophy. It is what it is; Tua didn't play well, but positive he would have led the same comeback that Jalen completed if he hadn't got hurt.

This trophy should go to either Haskins or Murray. Tua has had an excellent season and while he is the QB of the #1 team I fail to see him better than Haskins and Murray and this is more than the stats that both of these two put up which is astronomical and far exceeds Tua and I don't care if he played much in the 4th quarter because is if he played in all 4th quarters he still wouldn't be close IMO stat wise. True, Tua didn't have to play much in the 4th quarters of nearly all of his game, credit to Bama but the Georgia game clearly illustrated what the I've been thinking all along. What can he do when the game is tight/close and he has "go win" a big game? I don't want to here "he was hurt" because before he got injured he had already thrown 2 INTs and Bama was trailing by 14 points.

The sheer display of Haskins in the TTUN and B1G championship games as well as Murray's performance in the WV and Big 12 championship games clearly showed these two are better at the QB position as well as the best players in the country. I've read 47 posts and have yet to find any tangible reasoning from all those claiming that Tua will win this award "and it won't even be close". Hopefully, with the exception of the 10% who felt they needed to vote prior to this weekends games, won't take these same position with their votes.

Not really... If the race were neck and neck (I don't believe it is or was), maybe one game would sway some voters. One game doesn't make someone the best player in the country just like one game doesn't mean a player isn't the best player in the country.

Unless you believe that Tua was a mile ahead of Kyler and Haskins, and I'm not sure how that would have been the case, I'm not sure how laying an egg with the world watching falls under the narrative "recency bias". Dude struggled mightily. Kyler and Haskins had monster years too, and didn't vomit on themselves in their Conference Championship games.

Let's not forget Tua hasn't really taken many 4th quarter snaps this season. Stats would be a lot closer to Murray's had he been needed for every snap every week.
