Just curious, what is goetta and what does it taste like or compare to?

Goetta is scrapple’s less tasty cousin.

Hmmm...never expected a syrup component to this. Is the taste similar to a sausage ball?

I’ve never had a sausage ball, but to me, Goetta (or scrapple) is nothing like sausage. Completely different taste and texture.

I live pretty close to Mt. Lookout. Haven't done Zip's yet, but you're not the first to mention it. The special lady and her college friends are longtime Arthur's devotees so we've already been there a couple times for burgers.

Next door to Arthur's is The Echo, GREAT breakfast spot.

Grab some fried chicken at The Eagle in OTR.

Try the Tri-Tip from Taft Ale House, also in OTR.

Get the Gravy Cheese Fries from Pleasant Ridge Chili, then walk across the street and down the block to Nine Giant Brewing for some drinks.

Do the Underground OTR tour. Really cool look at the area pre & during prohibition.

Hit up City Flea at Washington Park.

Ride the Giant Ferris Wheel on the river at The Banks.

I know that's closing on 12/2. Is it a permanent fixture, that will reopen next year?

No idea, didn't realize it was closing that soon.

It’s like scrapple but not nearly as good.

Goetta is the 7 point winner in that contest.

YES!!! The Panegeri Festival (pan-ee-yid-ee) at Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church! The company I worked for prior to moving to Louisville sponsored it because our owner was a parishioner. I actually worked the festival one year. Great time!

I hate Goetta.

Hope I don't get deported from Greater Cincinnati for uttering that in public.

In NKY, there is a Catholic Church every 2-3 miles or so. A must see is the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, one of 85 minor basilicas in the United States. It has three pipe organs and has one of the largest stain glass windows in the world. My wife and I were married there.

Another really cool Catholic mass experience is going to the German language mass at Old St. Mary's in OTR, and then going next door after mass to their Rathskeller for beers with the parishioners. That's another SERIOUSLY beautiful church in Cincinnati. They have daily Latin masses there, if that's your kinda thing.

I've seen that before, though I haven't been in.

I always thought that having German-language masses there was a very odd choice.

More and more, I think we like the same stuff!
