CAL is without a doubt a great team, but unfortunately, there is no way of knowing the answer. The only thing that we have at our disposal right now is stats and scores and if we are going by that then at least CAL and South Warren have a common opponent. South beat Central Hardin 59-0 Cal beat them 49-21. So if all we have is stats and scores, it would stand to reason based on that score that South Warren is better. That's why questions like this one are hard to answer and until there are only six left standing there isn't much point. Fun discussion but no way to change someone's opinion. I don't have the time or inclination to go through stats CAL may have the advantage in that area which again goes back to what is the basis for the discussion because it can't be the eye test because some see through the CAL colored glasses while other will look through their team's colored glasses. There would have to be parameters to 100% determine this if we are going by the on-the paper route since none of the remaining teams play outside of class.

Just for fun, what would CAL's record be this season vs. this schedule:

Aug 31, 18 Boyle County

If you feel they would be 10-0 or even 9-1, then they are probably the best team in the state.

I might be wrong but if I remember correctly Central Hardin sustained key injuries during the CAL game and therefore were down to their 3rd string QB amongst others the next week against South. I understand what you're saying and yes its next to impossible to compare 2 teams that haven't played each other, much less hardly any common opponents.

Handle is a mighty strong word...I don't see either of them "Handling" the Rebels...I'm not sure either could beat Boyle, let alone "Handle" them.

I haven’t seen most of the teams mentioned in this thread play this year, so I have no idea. Most of the posters on this thread must have seen CAL play this year because they sure seem to know a whole lot about which teams would beat CAL. I know CAL has been considerably better than any teams they have faced so far. CAL will be playing at Somerset on Friday. They are concentrating on being better than Somerset this week.

Jumper, I’m can’t remember for sure, but isn’t this a repeat of the eighth grade championship from four years ago? I know CAL played them in either the final or semi-finals.
