South Oldham (Week 1) turned out to be a good win, and obviously beating DeSales twice is no easy feat. But I agree, their schedule has not been the toughest.

Pretty sure we played them twice. I think they were ranked #2 in 2a the first time around an #3 in 2a the second time around. Have any of the remaining teams played a top 3 team in their class? The answer is no. You schedule the teams ahead of time, you can’t control how good they are from year to year.

Oh, I'm not criticizing them by any means. I completely understand scheduling and how it doesn't always play out on the field the way it looks on paper.

 

I'm just saying, I wouldn't come on here and declare them the best team in the state prior to winning that state championship. Now, if they come out and dismantle Somerset and Mayfield/WV, then we can have a discussion. As of now, I'm not convinced.

May be the best Defensive team in Kentucky.

 

Their Offense leaves a lot to be desired except for the Milton Wright show.

 

Easily Top 10 regardless of class... but I am not convinced they are the best team in Class 2A let alone all of Kentucky.

Not claiming that at all. This thread was started by a Mayfield fan. Just want to win the next game and than worry about the following game and not interested in chest beating.

Mayfield is probably saying “hi”. Several 6A and 5A teams won’t even bother. CAL MIGHT be the best 2A team, but in the state? Nah.
