I will go ahead & take Mayfield in the 2A finals over CAL (IF) they both get there & I haven't seen either one of them play this season.

Mayfield is probably saying “hi”. Several 6A and 5A teams won’t even bother. CAL MIGHT be the best 2A team, but in the state? Nah.

 

So Male lost to St. X earlier this season by 2 tds. St. X lost to DeSales. DeSales only lost 2 games all year and they were both to CAL, with the last one being a thorough beating, but you're pretty much saying CAL isn't even touching a few of the 5A and 6A teams. I don't understand your logic.

 

And yes I know common opponent comparisons are nowhere near the be all end all. And yes I realize Male just beat St. X in their last meeting, but some of yall act like a 2A school can't be on the same level as, or better than, an upper echelon 5A or 6A team and that's just not true.

Again, give me Trinity, X, Male, CovCath and Mayfield as better than CAL. Idk that is the best in 2A lol.
