For those Boyle fans coming:

- Game time has been moved up to 7:00 to accommodate for the long return trip back a little better.

- Belfry sits right along US 119 North. You will take US 23 South until you are on the edge of Pikeville City Limits. You will then turn left at an intersection onto US 119. Once you make the turn you are essentially 30 minutes from Belfry High School when you make this turn. Unlike years past, US 119 is now a 4-lane Highway all the way from Pikeville.

- For those who don't want to make the long trip at night, the best options to spend the night will be in Pikeville. There is a Hampton Inn and a Hilton Garden Inn downtown, a Holiday Inn Express South of Downtown on US 23. There are some local motels as well.

- Food wise, your better options will be in Pikeville as well. Where you turn off US 23 there are several good options across the river such as Texas Roadhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, and some other common chains. Downtown Pikeville has several options as well.

There are some options closer to Belfry. Just past the High School on the left is a "mall" on top of the hill. There is a pizza place, a local steakhouse, a McDonalds, Captain D's, and an Arby's. If you continue on US119 you will come to a few more chains and the crossover to Williamson, WV. Williamson has a BBQ place and a sports bar named Starters in downtown of note.

- If you need some supplies or gear, there is a Wal-Mart at the intersection of US119 and US23 where you turn as well as a Wal-Mart about a half mile past the High School on the right.

- There are gas stations littered around the High School including one directly behind the visitor bleachers on US 119.

- There is ample parking at the High School next to the stadium and in the big lot in front of the gym, but for big games such as this it will fill up quick. Arrive early if you want to guarantee a spot. DO NOT PARK at the Food City down the road, they will tow you. Most people just park alongside the highway and walk to the Stadium or just up the road there is a First Baptist Church and a small lot used for the youth soccer and baseball fields.

- Belfry has nice visitor seating but it is not massive. I anticipate Boyle will completely fill their section so late arriving fans will have to stand along the fence. There is some room for bag chairs next to the visitor side, but it not on an incline so if people stand at the fence as expected it will be difficult to see.

Is this the first ever meeting between these two?

It's a dream matchup. Two legendary coaches, two contrasting offensive philosophies. If only both teams were at 100%, health wise. Should be a tremendous atmosphere on Pond Creek.

Yes sir, first ever!

The closest these two ever came to each other previously was Boyle played in the Pike County Bowl the year they won their first Title. They beat Pikeville.

With Boyle moving up to 4A, maybe Belfry can entice them to come to the PCB sometime in the near future. Otherwise, this could be the first and last time they play for quite some time.

I took some time to watch a couple Boyle games last night a little deeper, here are some of my thoughts:

- I really like the Kelly kid up front. He is a hosscat and works hard. I was a HUGE Mitchell Paycheck fan last year. I don't think Kelly is quite to the level of Paycheck's ability to disrupt a game, but it is close. The best matchup of the night will be Belfry's very good Interior Linemen vs. Kelly.

- EZ Roller is a player at LB. Very fast, very physical, and good instincts. His biggest strength is he is not afraid to play aggressive, but it also gets him in a little trouble from time to time when he over-commits or bites on a playfake. This is another key "game inside the game" to monitor. Belfry's QB Avery Browning is a magician with the football and Roller will be asked to make great reads all night on the FB Belly. If he wins the battle between Browning's ball handling and his instincts that bodes well for Boyle, if he gets trapped out of a play it could mean chunk yardage for Belfry.

- The Colewick kid is fun to watch. Reminds me of Cameron Catron that played for Belfry. Not the most physically imposing athlete, but a natural football player. Tough as nails and can lay a hit. He is kind of the X-factor for Boyle on both sides of the ball.

- Reese Smith is Reese Smith. Complete stud. Belfry will have their hands full with him. Gained even more respect for his game seeing how patient he is with the ball in his hands to set up blocks and set up cuts. One of my favorite players in KY right now.

- Expected Crawford to be bigger. Not a knock on him as he runs 20 pounds bigger than he is. Bartleson is super explosive outside with freakish speed, Crawford is the tougher back between the tackles. Very good 1-2 punch and Boyle does a lot of good things to get the balls in their hands in a multitude of ways..

- Speaking of which, Belfry's OLB/DE's have to play the game of their lives. Boyle is comfortable taking what you give them between the hashes or in the passing game, but where Boyle kills teams is with the big plays on the edges. The jet sweeps, counters, and the ability for Bartleson to bounce a run outside are all recipes for big plays anytime they use them. Belfry has got to keep contain or leverage because once Boyle gets the corner and can turn on their speed they turn a 5-yard gain into 30 in a hurry.

- Lanter is a very good QB for the Boyle system. Makes very good decisions, throws an accurate and catchable ball, doesn't make mistakes with his footwork. A true pocket passer, you can tell he is very uncomfortable when moved off his mark, but when he can plant his feet or his first read is open after his drop he is very, very good. A little underrated all things considered. If this was the 2015 team with Ray Horton and Austin Hall I would actually like Belfry's abilities to make him sweat... this year though Lanter should really benefit against this Belfry defense which has not shown any semblance of a pass rush.

- Drew Baker is a sneaky good player for Boyle. You dont see his name getting love often but I like how he plays. Covers kicks well, plays his position great on Defense, excellent tackler, and a surprising red zone threat on Offense.

A little something to chew on... Belfry is 37-3 at home in the playoffs since the CAM opened in 2005. Sheldon Clark was the last team to hand the Pirates a home playoff loss back in 2009.

Belfry will defend its home turf with everything they've got. But will it be enough?

@ATLCat I've been to Starters before, all I can remember is that we shut that place down, after that, I don't remember much. HAHA

Great assessment ATLCat.

Should be an awesome atmosphere at CAM as it always is come playoff time. One of if not the best high school atmospheres in November year after year. Best of luck to both - I like the Rebel’s in this one by 7-10 but it should be an absolute dog fight.

you have done a fantastic job on the Rebel Scouting report.

Are some of the Bluegrass Prep guys going to be at the game? I always like meeting the guys that are posting on here. Like putting a face with the name. Might not want to see my face but hey.

I will be there. By the way, are there booster buses being organized? If so, could someone give the details?

I just figured that @Watusi is going to tailgate and feed us before the game?

For me, it would make more sense to move the game 30 minutes the other direction to accommodate for fans who have to work Friday.
