October 30, 20187 yr The negative is that I know in Pendleton County, a band concert was planned for the Middle School, so those kids will have to keep their extracurricular obligations. My personal opinion is a middle school student shouldn't be trick-or-treating in the first place. However, that could make things difficult for parents looking to take a younger kid and having to miss the concert.
October 30, 20187 yr A good friend of mine on the local city council has said for years that Trick-or-Treating should be on the Saturday evening closest to Halloween. That way you don't interfere with church (Sunday/Wednesday), high school football (Friday), or other school night events (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday). Everyone knows when it is and there's no conflict with school or religious functions. Of course the city council shoots it down every year!

When I was young growing up in Cincinnati, I remember that trick or treating occurred on a couple Sunday afternoons. But, then again, there were no NFL triple headers on TV either.

My daughter is in 8th and that's what she did.
