The fact is from the high school coaches I have talked to they can't think of a single occurrence of a high school kid being offered, accepting and then having his scholarship offer revoked with no disciplinary or scholastic reason involved. To call this a common occurrence is way off base !!

The college is the cards holder and dealer. The student is the customer and is entitled to make his or her best choice. Once the customer choses his selection then YES they should have to honor it!!

Yes they do once the deal is done, but if a college is unsure of their intensions then they should time limit the scholarship offer. Gives both a lock in time frame and this wouldn't be happening.

It's the same on both sides of the aisle. Kid verbals as a JR to a lower level BCS school. His SR year, he blows up. Now the big boys come knocking. The lower tier BCS school has been banking on the kid as the steal they knew he was all along, but now they are left out in the cold. The UL situation is very much the same IMO...

I agree kids bailing out on committments to schools it just as bad. They should never committ to early. Again Colleges holds all the cards in this deal. They are the ones that controls destiny for young people. If IMO they had time limits on committments and schollys then this stuff wouldn't go on. The recuriting thing just about drove me nuts, they will tell you everything and anything at any given time. Have you on their call list every week, some are on the everyday list and then still you my not get a scholarship. It's tough and on the other side college recuriter jobs are on the line. So I understand somewhat but IF and I MEAN IF you offer and the kid accepts then you honor it. It would be to me like your soon to be wife that had devoted her attention on you and you in her and one week before the wedding she says I can't marry you because I've found someone better. You say we have a wedding license and everything we have to get married but you know deep down it's doesn't mean anything until you exchange vows and the minister signs it for you to be married. I don't care when they did it. If they offered and he acepted their offer and they were fine with it then, they should hold true to it. Don't offer if you don't want them, plain and simple. Brad my have chosen UL because the depth chart for playing time my not be as long as another school. Now he my not hit the field until his red-shirt jr, year.

Pitrino is a thug his team is full of Thugs, he has a I'll do anything to win attitude, mark my word Loueyvull will fall hard here in a couple years. Its a classless act to pull an offer after its been made and Durham should thank his lucky stars now instead of finding out later after he's wasted half his career up there in that cess pool.

As far as the situation goes, I'm mostly dissappointed in Louisville. If they might have had second thoughts at all, they should've reviewed his work before and decided earlier that they didn't like what they saw. The timing is bad, but if they had just come up with the decision (which guessing they may be expecting better recruits after the WVU win, the decision may have been very recent) then the sooner they tell him the better. I wish they had more faith in the kid, but I'm not behind the scenes, so I can't say how they managed to come to this decision.

Yes, they can it isn't right when they do it either. However, they are teenagers and quite honestly it is a little bit different. The colleges have to offer the kid before he can accept, once the offer comes then its up to the kid to decide whether to continue to listen to recruiters or not. In most cases the player doesn't commit until they're sure and barring discipline or bad grades that commitment should be honored by both parties--but especially by the school because the school had already deemed the player worthy by extending the offer.
