Durham's scholly yanked by UL...

Featured Replies

I want nothing but the best for any Ky kid. But, at the same token, it seems pretty easy for lots of folks to thrash the decision by UofL, whether it be right or wrong.

I guarantee you if UK was the school who cut him loose, whether justified or not, nobody would say word one.

I can understand you guys' argument about the timing of the whole situation, but I still don't think I'd use classless as the word to describe it. It was just bad timing, nothing more, IMO.

The worst

Whats classless is the timing of the whole thing....Not that they pulled a scholly from a Ky boy.

Please. It'd be classless if they did so in July. He's got lots of time to go where he wanted to in the first place …

So it's not bad that they did this during the biggest time of the year football wise for Durham ?

But couldn't it also be detrimental to a player if a college made an offer during this time? The kid is all focused on what needs to be done, is offered a D-1 scholarship and decides, hey, it's just high school, I don't need to try hard anymore, I've got my ride....Would that be classless? You have to say yes, assuming that your previous arguement was the fact that the pulling of the scholly will affect the players mentality and inevitably his game...

Atleast the kid would be happy instead of sad :D

Whether it is or not, from UofL's standpoint, I don't know. As an advocate for SEKY kids, Im disappointed in the decision, because I've seen the kid play and I think he fits in well with the Cards.

But don't act like it came at some awful time and he couldn't get into another school. That's just ridiculous. It's freakin' November, for God's sake. You UK folks are just trying to use this as ammunition to bag on the UofL program, in order to make UK seem like they are somehow much more noble. Don't break your wrists patting yourselves on the back after the big win by showing yourselves off as the model program.

And to think I bothered to congratulate UK on their big win over UGA. Never again. Heck, they might've done somebody wrong on the way to getting that precious win.

Good try. Sounds to me, from what I read above, that this is not as disappointing as you would make it out to be.

I know he can get into another school. I'm just saying don't you think this news is pretty devastating to a 17 year old kid during the high school playoffs of his Senior year ?

I'm not a "UK folk". Louisville is traditionaly better @ Football & UK is traditionaly better @ Baketball. Yay for them. I'm not a fan of 1 more then the other.

Obviously the coaching staff saw something that didn't appeal to what they were looking for from the kid. We don't know what that was, we can only speculate. It's JMO that its going a little overboard calling UofL "classless" because they pulled a scholarship offer.

If you're not sure about the kid, DON'T OFFER THE SCHOLARSHIP!!! I don't know this kid, but choosing a college is a big deal, could you imagine being accepted to a college and choosing to go there, then the college saying that you aren't the type of student that they are looking for... I can't believe that you are defending this, this shouldn't happen, you shouldn't offer something, have them accept, and then take it back...

You're right...UofL is terrible, and should be hated by all because of this move. Shame on me for defending it...

:thumb: A very average occurance. The fact that it happened at UofL is the ONLY fuel to this fire...

Not a UK folk...if UK or Bama had done this, I would think the same thing.

I'm sure they are worried all about it too...

LOL How rediculous, don't congratulate UK on a win because a player committed to U of L had thier scholarship removed...
