MJAlltheWay24 Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Anyone thinking about checking out this Neil Armstrong moving starring Ryan Gosling? Wife and I might go tomorrow.
Jumper_Dad Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I want to see it, if we can find time to go.
The Professor Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Looks like it’s going to be very good from the previews. There’s some controversy from the production not showing the American flag planting on the moon’s surface not being shown but from what I understand the flag is seen throughout the rest of the movie on the spacecrafts, astronaut’s gear, and other places. Second man on the moon Buzz Aldrin was one of the first to be vocal about it, though.

I heard about that "controversy" also but saw a review of the movie and it made a point of stating that the flag is there.

I’m sure it is and also shown throughout the movie. I’m looking forward to seeing it. I was 15 when landing occurred and it was a thrilling time to be alive.
hrcarrier Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 It looks like it’s going to be good, I’m looking forward to seeing it.
BigVMan23 Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 I saw it this weekend. I was a little underwhelmed, especially in relation to the reviews it's getting. My gf liked it a little better than I did, but wasn't thrilled by it by any stretch.

True blue (and gold) Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 I saw it and thought that it was excellent. However, consider the name of the movie. First Man. The focus isn’t the achievement of landing on the moon (and planting a flag...those complaining about that not being there missed the whole purpose of the movie), it was about Armstrong and how several personal and professional artists events affected him, leading to him becoming “First Man.”
