With such a young squad this may have been a bit much for their psyche.

In the long run, still better to play tough schedule. Tough schedule shows what you need to work on. You get nothing out of playing district foes J-Town and Eastern.

Realistically, did the Trinity faithfull see these types of struggles this season? Maybe not 1-6, but there were going to be some growing pains that the average high school fan doesn’t see because they’re Trinity?

Its really not a hard concept to grasp. As you said, Trinity gets absolutely nothing from their district, so they prepare by playing tougher opponents. In doing that, they will occasionally have down years. Their strategy obviously works more often than not.

Another loss and this one win team stays a top ren team.? Not even Notre Dame has this kind of power.

They have won 25 state championships, I think it works pretty well. Pointing out their tough schedule in their one bad year out of ten is a pretty weak argument against scheduling tougher opponents.

Pretty sure I’m talking about 2018 and how effective that schedule has been. I’ll guess we’ll have to wait another week to see it come to fruition.

So what are you suggesting, exactly? Trinity should have changed how they’ve scheduled for the last 10+ years this year because they might not have as many wins?

I have many friends that are X grads. I’ve even had some that worked for me. They do seem to have an uncanny ability to turn a second win in TEN seasons into proof that their way was the best all along. Congratulations on the win. The better team last night won. As to the game, as ugly as the offense was last night, it also wasn’t that far from being very good. Receivers were open (albeit not for long). The young QB just needs to make faster decisions. The running game will be fine when the passing game improves. If you make them pay for putting that much pressure on the QB, the pressure will diminish. I am not giving up on this team. I don’t see a tight game until the state semifinals. By that point, expect the offense to be much more efficient.

By all accounts this is not a special Trinity team especially on offense. Beatty does not have the SR QB that has been in his system for 3 years like he has had in the past. It just goes to show you how good you can be when you have a player like Rondale Moore in your offense. And for the most part Trinity does not have that elite speed (and neither does STX) on the outside. Perhaps that speed is in the FR or Soph class and things will be back to Trinity normal in the future.

My son who was on field said after game, Coach Beatty made Trinity players take the Trinity stickers off their helmets. Looks like he means buisness going forward.

Yep, that is true, but the problems on Shelbyville Rd, are more then win, losses and helmet stickers. Starts at the top and includes big Egos and very poor decisions! Things don’t look to be improving anytime soon!
