September 26, 20187 yr No so much candy, as I could trade what I didn't like with my brother and friends, it was the homemade cookies. Although I liked them, they would get trashed in my pillow case. We actually would go home, dump out the pillow case and go out again.
September 26, 20187 yr Here's a 2017 article from Forbes that highlights the most & least popular Halloween treats, with Circus Peanuts, Candy Corn, Wax Coke Bottles, Necco Wafers, & Peanut Butter Kisses (Mary Janes) comprising the Top 5 in the least category: 1 Most Loved And Hated Halloween Candies I have to agree with all of the most loved. As far as the most hated, I loved the parrafin Coke bottle candy.

September 27, 20187 yr I didn't mind candy corn, but that goop in the orange and black wrappers were terrible. I believe those are called peanut butter kisses....and they're absolute garbage. Candy corn too. Didn't care for Mary Janes, Boston Baked Beans, Coconut Slices, Red Hots, Hot Tamales, Circus Peanuts, Bit-O-Honeys, Sixlets, Junior Mints, Charleston Chews, Dubble Bubble gum, starlight mints, and butterscotch wheels. I always liked the folks who would pass out the fruity candies to add a little variety in among all of the folks who gave out the fun-size Snickers, Milky Ways, 3 Musketeers, and all the other chocolate stuff. I was usually willing to trade the majority of my chocolate for Starbursts, Skittles, Nerds, Mike & Ike, Sprees (especially the chewy ones), Lemonheads, Sour Patch Kids, Laffy Taffy (except the banana flavor) and Airheads. Runts were okay. Same with Pixie Stix, Jolly Ranchers, Tootsie Pops, JawBreakers, Bottle Caps, and Sweet Tarts. Smarties were passable, same with Dum-Dums, and Necco Wafers were the bottom of the barrel as far as what I wouldn't throw out. Besides the fruitier stuff, I prized Milk Duds, Caramel Creams/Bullseyes, Jujubes, Tootsie Rolls, Cowtails, and I was one of the few who liked Good 'N Plenties. By dad used to charge a "re-entry fee" of five Caramel Creams or two Cowtails per trick-or-treater that returned to his house at the end of the night.

I also was never a coconut fan, so any candy bar with coconut went into my trade pile. I hated getting jelly beans, taffy and worst of all peppermint patties. I disliked those hard candies wrapped like a strawberry, too. I loved just about any kind of candy bar, especially $100,000 bar (before they renamed it), Mr Goodbar, Snickers, Hershey and Zero. Other favorites were bubble gum cigars / cigarettes, bottle caps, candy necklaces, pop rocks / nerds and sweet tarts / spree And one of my all time favorites, who remembers this?

September 27, 20187 yr I grew up poor in the city, wasn't too discriminatory about the free candy or other I got each Halloween. Like I posted earlier, what wasn't my favorite I would trade with my brother or friends.
September 27, 20187 yr Don't think I've ever had or even seen a Necco wafer. Must be lucky I guess. Not the greatest candy in the world. Kind of tasted like those spice gum drops. Up until I guess this year the candy had been around for YEARS.
