Sad, but true. The better Rondo looks in the NBA, the worse it makes Tubby and staff look.

If 4 TOP 75 All-time players is the basis for being "good," 99.9% of the players who have ever played are in trouble.

 

Why are we comparing Ainge to Bird,McHale,Chief, and Pippen? What exactly does that prove except that he's not a Top 75er?

It proves he wasn't a great player just a good player.

He didn't create the mess UK football was in when he got here. And I am seeing improvement from last year to this year with a whole lot of very young starters and 2nd teamers. My only issue with Mitch and football was increasing the ticket prices before the program was showing signs of life.

It is obvious that these debates could go on forever without anyone changing their mind. Rondo was one of the best players in the country but chose to go to a system that didn't fit and maximize his style of play, it did seem that at times Tubby was "holding him back". But also Rondo chose to go there and play for Tubby so he should have done what Tubby wanted. As for him clashing with other players, the best and most simple solution to that would have been winning. It's funny how people tend to get along a lot better when you're on the right side of the scoreboard.

 

As for Ainge, he was a better than average role player who had a consistent and pretty good output for one of the best, if not the best, teams in NBA history. He wasn't a superstar but at the same time he was a necessity on that team. Any championship caliber team needs a tough player who is willing to sacrifice personal statistics for the better of the team, and also who is willing to go punch a guy in the mouth or throw an elbow for a teammate. He was a leader on a HOF loaded team. No, he wasn't a superstar, but he was still a very good NBA player no matter what the stats say.

He is not the one who hired Tubby is he? The only hire that we could say at this point that looks to be bad is Rich Brooks....:sssh:

Why would you not want your best player to be happy? It seems to me that you would be more successful if your best player or players are happy. Could he have possibly been frustrated that they were out of shape and could not run? Is it possible that he gave as much effort as possible and didn't see the same effort from everyone else? They very easily could have been a faster paced team last year. They chose not to. How do you know he didn't give his best effort?

 

Whats up with all the questions, this is twice now in this thread you have a post full of questions. Maybe he thought this? Maybe he did that?...Your right I dont know if he gave his best effort or not, but he sure was doing something that was effecting the team. I mean you can tell that by the comments by this years teams on how now things are much better between all the players and there is no fighting between them...So as you would say maybe Rondo was causing problems within the team, maybe with Rondo not being happy with the sytsem he was making it hard for other people to do well on the team. Maybe the players saw that the player with the most talent on the team wasn't getting along with the coach and so maybe that was another problem for the whole team.

 

Once again Rondo was a great talent, but it just did not work out well for him here for alot of reasons. And its better for the team and himself that he is now in the NBA....
