I am simply saying that he really didn't surrender himself as being a team player and a good human being, therefore, what have sports really done for his character.

Discipline, self sacrifice, and dedication to things greater than yourself are qualities usually found in upstanding human beings. Do you really have to comitt a crime to find things wanting in your character?

Other than his relationship with Tubby, what proof do you have that he fits any of these character flaws? I know this may be a big surprise, but sometimes at 18, you aren't very mature yet...

I've seen nothing from Rondo away from the court that would make me think he has any character flaws... You know how many people I know that are great people, but are selflish on the court? Sometimes it just takes over.

I know that this may be a big surprise, but sometimes you are expected to be accountable long before you become 18, both by coaches and parents. If he had been, maybe he would have known how to take coaching before he became an ADULT.

Rondo is one of the most impressive raw talents to every come through Kentucky. The problem is he is also one of the most selfish. He packed it up after his freshman year and could have cared less how the team faired during his second year.

 

Rondo could have been one of the greatest... he just didn't have the heart to play hard on every possesion during his soph. year. I wish him the best in the ego-filled, me first NBA... he should fit in perfectly.

I agree with you on that, he is a much better fit in an NBA system then he would have been in any system at any school at the college level.

I don't disagree with that for a second.

I think he will be a much better NBA player then he was in college but if he doesn't learn to shoot any better than a 4th grade girl (no offense to 4th grade girls) then he will never be extremly successful.

Zeke is an HOFer and has proven he knows nothing about assembling a team. A does not lead to B.

 

I didn't say anything about assembling a team, I responded to the colorful post about him being a joke and needing to look in the mirror.

Ainge was average in the NBA and benefitted from playing on good teams. He's done nothing in Boston. Granted, he has waaaaay more talent than anyone on this sight, but compared to many pro players he didn't have much talent at all.

 

What does the way that people on the sight play have to do with Danny Ainge having talent?

Who guarded (or payed attention to) Danny Ainge? He was an average NBA player. 11 point averages aren't going to change many minds.

 

You obviously need to watch ESPN Classic sometime and watch the Celtics of the mid- to late-80's. I think you'll have a different opinion.
