Tubby's whole system is what's wrong with Kentucky basketball. He is a good coach and a good guy, but he is not a good fit for UK.

Last year, after the season, I was down on Rondo. What I am quickly learning is that it wasn't the player that was causing the problem.

 

How wasn't it the the player that was causing the problem. When you are a player you should listen to what the coach says, it shouldn't be the other way around...

If a style of play has made fans not like UK, then they really never were fans of UK then to begin with. UK is on the decline now? After just 1 bad season after having 3 straight years of very good teams...

 

Now I admit our Senior and Sophomore classes this year was not very good classes, and having classes like that shouldn't happen. But other than that the recruiting has been fine. We had the top class in the country two years ago, this years class we brought in is a very good group. Then as long as everything plays out the right way next years class is shaping out to be a awesome class.

If that was the case, there would be 100's of coaches in the NCAA looking bad. Everyone (hopefully) improves in the NBA...

Exactly. From everything I've heard, Rondo not only clashed with Tubby, but all his teammates as well. Bottom line: Rondo didn't want to be at UK — he felt it was beneath him. And his oft-uninspired play showed it. He's where he wants to be now, and it is reflecting in his play.

I disagree. The NBA is centered around catering to egos. College coaches are not, nor should they have to be. I think part of a college coache's responsibility is to produce a better student, citizen, and all around man. There are a lot of professional athletes that don't fit any of those bills. Rondo is likely to be another example.

Man if Tubby is that bad, I hate to think how the University of Michigan feels about Tom Brady being the backup. Don't get me wrong, I think that the UK men's team needs to take a good look at where they are and where they want to be. Some players, no matter how gifted, are going to be a problem.

I am simply saying that he really didn't surrender himself as being a team player and a good human being, therefore, what have sports really done for his character.

He may have better numbers but can he conform and merge his goals with the team goals. He may never put the team in front of Rajon no matter where he plays.
