If Beechwood's (2-1) loss last week to Corbin takes any of the shine off of this match-up, it's minimal. This is still #1 vs. #1. Reigning 5A champion vs. reigning 1A champion. In theory, CovCath (4-0) should dominate this series. But Beechwood has had its share of success against the much larger Colonels. Only Highlands and Newport Central Catholic have more wins over CovCath than Beechwood's 15.

It’s been very one-sided in CCH’s favor since about 2004 with Beechwood getting only a couple of victories that I can remember.

That being said I said all offseason that Beechwood is as good this year as they have been in a long time. I expect CCH to win by multiple scores, but the KY running clock streak to end.

Since the series resumed in 2003, Beechwood has 3 wins. But most of the games have been competitive till the success the Colonels have had the last couple years.

Covington Catholic wins by 28+.

I suspect the Lord doesn't interfere in football game outcomes, so I don't seeing David getting Goliath this time.

Cov. Cath. domination. B.W. Coaches, please don't run your QB 10+ times in this game, as he'll get killed against this very tough defense. Think about the long-term "team goal" for the season. Is it really worth the risk ?
