Running the ball and throwing over top. Rudi had what 12 carries??? We threw two "bombs" I remember. One was 6 and the other would have been if it hadn't been overthrown. I think we are throwing underneath "way" too much. in Madden you throw underneath to open up the deep ball, but in real football you have to run the ball just so the other team respects it and you have to throw the ball deep to open up the middle of the field. Throwing short slants and screens over and over again didn't work too well.

I'll leave you to figure out how best to beat Madden, and these questions:

How many teams in the NFL scored 27 or more and lost Sunday?

How many teams in the NFL have EVER averaged 31 points a game for a season? Heck how many average 31 right now after only seven or eight games?

Did Jacksonville just lose to Houston two weeks ago? Then they beat a struggling Philly team this week. So I wouldn't be so fast to throw the Jags into the playoffs...Yeah our best chance with this schedule is to win the division, and I use to think that the AFC North would only get one team out this year. But I really starting to think that the North could find away to get two in because I mean besides for the other 3 division leaders and Denver. That last wild card spot is wide open IMO...

Have you seen Jacksonville's schedule? Personally I think they're in the driver seat. If you disagree go ahead but you can't say they don't have a MUCH greater chance than the Who Dey.

I understand injuries, but other than injuries what are the Bengals doing differently on offense compared to last year? They aren't throwing deep. The offense is still very good, but it is not clicking on all cylinders.

I think if they can keep 15 on the field, the offense will openup. Also CP is getting hit a lot more than last year. I think the O line play is directly the cause for the shortcomings in the Bengals O.

PA and throwing downfield should mean he gets hit less. We have to make the defense respect our running game. Straight drop backs for 2 and 3 yards set up 3 and long for the Bengals. Then we get blitzed and Carson gets killed.

How many attempts did Rudi get last Sunday? 12? 5 on the 1st series. I don't think a D is going to respect that. Baltimore's D will be pinning their ears back and will be bringing the house in pass rush. It could be very ugly:eek:

I dont think it will be the Bengals that would get that last wild card spot of them. I think it will be the Ravens who get that last spot, and the Bengals would be the ones who win the division...:thumb:

Lets remember.. The Ravens are not that good.... look at their wins.. the only impressive ones in my book is the one last week vs. The Saints on the road and the home win over the Chargers who might just go all the way. Other than that, a bunch of bad teams including the Bucs....us losing to them was a joke.

Bengals go in and take care of biz this week... Rudi runs the ball over 20 times and it becomes a boring game..... Bengals 16-10 winners.

Neither are the Bengals at this point. And Baltimore has a big advantage in that they have a defense that can actually shut people down. Not to mention their ability to create points on defense. Baltimore's defense isn't going anywhere...and I'm wondering where Cincy's offense has gone. And, the odds of Baltimore's offense with a new QB in McNair improving as the season progresses are better than the odds of Cincy's defense making a big jump, IMO.

I really expected Cincinnati to be better and Baltimore to not be this good when the season started, but at this point, it's the opposite. I think the Bengals are going to have a hard time making the playoffs unless they get the offense going...and I haven't seen anything that makes me think that's going to happen. That loss at home to Atlanta was devastating, IMO.

I think that is a very good possiblity. So break down how you think the rest of the Bengals and Ravens schedule will play out.

Bengals

@ Ravens

Chargers

@ Saints

@ Browns

Ravens

Raiders

@ Colts

@ Broncos

Steelers

Ravens

Bengals

@Tennessee

Atlanta

Pittsburgh

@Cincinnati

@ Kansas City

Cleveland

@Pittsburgh

Buffalo

So Cincy needs to go 6-3 and Baltimore needs to go 5-4 to get to the "magic number". If Baltimore splits with the Bengals and the Steelers, beats Buffalo and Cleveland at home, they just need to win one of the other three games - Tennessee, Atlanta or KC.

Cincy MUST SWEEP Baltimore!

I've watched parts, but not the whole game. From what I have seen, I'm on to something. I believe it's on NFL Replay tonight when I get home from the UC/NKU game...

Scoring 27 points while the other team has the ball most of the game doesn't show you anything from the offense???

Yeah it sucked losing the game, but with the way Vick is throwing the ball right now most defenses would have a hard time stopping them. I mean its not like he has just done that to us, he did it last week to a good Steelers defense.

I dont think the loss was devastating at all. I mean if we win this week we will be right back on top of the division, and with already one game over baltimore in the head to head column. Now a loss this week could be sort of devastating, but last weeks was not all IMO. And I think everything and everyone will be right back on board after this week...

I've been a Bengals fan for 27 years and this loss won't change that. This game coming up may be the biggest of the year. How I wish they hadn't called roughing the passer in TB......
