Falcons 29 Bengals 27

Good question. Far too often they just flat out abandon the run...

:thumb: I can agree with that.

Rudi 12 carries = L

27 points would say the offense was fine. 29 points is where the blame should lie.

If the offense scores 31 then the defense is fine. I actually said to someone yesterday, "Our defense is set up to allow 28 points. Our offense is set up to score 31."

Ask Carson if the offense is OK. I'm sure his ribs and muscles will tell you a different story. Ask TJ if it's OK. He seemed to be begging the sideline to make some adjustments yesterday. Ask Rudi, the OL, and the recievers if 12 carries is enough for Rudi. It isn't. If that's all he touches the ball we can't play action, slow the blitz, and we obviously can't run the ball.

This Bengals team is about as much fun to watch as a Republican National Convention.

O'Line gets Carson killed before season's end. Defense couldn't stop me and Watusi.

I 'm ready for roundball.

If your sole argument is that the offense could do better, while you would technically be correct you would also be unrealistic.

An NFL team that scores 27 points should win NFL games. Period.

The logical game plan was to shut down the pass, right? Oops. The game plan worked. Vick was just flat out that good yesterday...

They better win the division because they aren't going to get a wild card over Denver and Jacksonville.

Did Jacksonville just lose to Houston two weeks ago? Then they beat a struggling Philly team this week. So I wouldn't be so fast to throw the Jags into the playoffs...Yeah our best chance with this schedule is to win the division, and I use to think that the AFC North would only get one team out this year. But I really starting to think that the North could find away to get two in because I mean besides for the other 3 division leaders and Denver. That last wild card spot is wide open IMO...

I'm not sure what you're saying.

Very tough loss yesterday, but Im taking it better that usual after a Bengals loss. I mean we scored 27 points yesterday, and our defense did actually a really good job stopping the run against the best rushing offense in the NFL. We just ran into a great playmakes in Vick, who was on his game yesterday, and when he is passing like that it is almost impossible to really stop that Falcons offense. With Vick doing what he did yesterday, the best you usually could hope for is holding them to field goals like we did in the first half. We just wasn't able to do that in the second half though....

So yeah people need to calm down, I mean losing sucks, but we have a chance to get right back on top next week in a huge against against the Ravens...

The pass D was soft because they sold out to stop the run. It was the right game plan, and the one teams have been using on Vick since he came into the league. When he does what he did yesterday, there isn't a D in the NFL that can stop him...

The Giants just stopped nearly everything he did by sacking him 7 times. :D

Good for the Giants. With those DE's the game plan becomes a lot different. And they allowed 220 yards rushing. Which is what the Bengals elected to try and stop...

Lance on running the ball...

I know everyone is bent out of shape about not running enough.

But the easiest thing to do is criticize, the toughest thing to do is back it up.

The Bengals passed 36 times and ran 18 times

Do me a favor.....click on the play by play and check out the play calls/situation http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playbyplay/NFL_20061029_ATL@CIN

Find me the situations that allowed for them to run more.

They ran Rudi early.....then:

*In a two minute drill to end the half they passed 9 times/ran once....Why? they were in a hurry

*4th qt. down two scores, 9 points....with 7:42 left, they ran 6 times/no runs on the drive that ended in a punt. What did you want them to do down two scores?

*Down 9 with 3:49 remaining they threw a bomb for a TD, on a one play drive.....and cut it to two points

*Down 2 with :19 remaining they ran two plays, throwing twice.

In those drives listed above they threw 18 times and ran none. But when did you want them to run in those sequences?????????

The other drives after the opening drive of the game were:

1 run /3 pass

4 run/3 pass (1 run by each: Rudi, Carson, Perry, Watson)

5 run/ 5 pass

1 run/2 pass

That is a breakdown of: 1 11 runs/13 passes

Good for the Giants. With those DE's the game plan becomes a lot different. And they allowed 220 yards rushing. Which is what the Bengals elected to try and stop...

90 on one run though. :thumb:

Giving up a 90 yarder is something to be proud of. It just screams solid D..
