Trinity is the best team in the state.

They are a really good team and they might be, but have you seen Trinity too? They should have scheduled to play this year. Next year Cov Cath wont have that monster O Line, this year or last was probably the year to play them.

I have seen CovCath play twice and only saw Trinity in the scrimmage.

What is similar is both teams are very polished but CovCath has better weapons and a little better size. It would be a good game but I am convinced that CovCath would win at least this year.

There is no way highlands is the 14th best team in the state. I watched them beat camel and they capitalized on interceptions and turnovers. We will see after this week how good they are.

This week will be a good look. But are you saying only bad teams get turnovers? To me that is a sign of a good team... Also to make adjustments that are effective is the sign of a good team. Maybe not 14th best....but they’re D is better than people think!

Well luckily for CCH, they won't get the opportunity to prove it.

Maybe. Maybe not.

I went back and looked at the Trinity vs. NKY scores listed in another thread. CalPreps only goes back to 2003, but Trinity was a double digit favorite in every matchup but one, the 2004 Dixie game. The Rocks were only a 3 point favorite and lost that game by 4.

Last year's final CalPreps rankings would have Trinity favored by 8 points over CovCath.

No doubt this years rankings will change as the season goes on, but I'm not sure I see anything that shows where a game last year or this year wouldn't be a very competitive game.

Huh that's weird. Calpreps rankings are a joke only when trinity fans are still butt hurt about not being as dominant as they think they are. yikes. That's a lot of heavy set middle aged men heavily breathing as they type aggressively.

Are we talking about competing with Trinity, or beating Trinity? Those are two completely different conversations, IMO. I have no issue with saying CovCath can compete with Trinity because I believe that's probably true in some years. Last year absolutely would have been a good game between the two. My issue is with the folks that think CovCath can BEAT Trinity, with little to no reasoning behind it at all. One good season and a state championship doesn't suddenly elevate a program to T's level.

What? :lol2:

The birds defense is solid but I just didn’t see much on offense. Like I said, camel fumbles and passes that should never have been thrown opened the door for easy scores.

I’m not a Trinity fan but these rankings are a joke. I’m not heavy set anymore either. So rude.

No insult to CCH's schedule, but if they were still playing GCL teams and having this much success then people would probably agree that CCH is #1 in the state.

CCH could be #1. Since they don't play we have to speculate.

Despite two losses I know Trinity is very, very good.

I "think" CCH is good but their schedule simply precludes anyone from saying that with a lot of confidence. I think CCH still gets the credit that a lot of previous CCH teams got for playing a very tough schedule when they played GCL teams and when, frankly, Northern Kentucky football was much better than it is today.

Two very good programs but we simply do not know how good CCH is.
