Congrats to Highlands

Ugly first half for both teams. Some ugly moments for the Camels in the 2nd half. Birds looked much better in the 2nd half. Positive game and both teams have things to work on.

Keep it up Birds. Put that shine back on the legacy.

Camels Need a QB

Are Birds fans happy with this performance? Seems like a couple of turnovers led to some scores. I heard all offseason that their offense would be tough to stop.

Are the Cake-eaters back. NKY football ain't the same without them. Looking forward to hearing more from people at the game.

I thought their QB looked pretty good.

Highlands is much improved over the last couple years. They still are a work in progress. But being 2-0 outscoring opponents 70-14, sure feels better working on things than being 0-2.

Wider margin than I was expecting. Highlands has my attention.

Scott County next week should tell us more about Highlands.

First Half:

Camels looked pretty sharp. Camels have a huge WR that is an athlete. They were driving down the field with designed QB runs and making big pass plays. The Birds D was stingy around the goal line. Birds offense looked.... I don't know what. They couldn't get a run play blocked for anything. They ran trips a lot and it wasn't working, the camels front 8 were getting back there and messing it all up. I was really concerned about the offense first half.

 

Second Half:

Birds defense was nasty in the second half. They were making things happen, turnovers, big hits, Camels couldn't get anything going. The offense really stepped it up too. The passing game made some adjustments and it made a big difference, they took what was given and it made me feel a lot better. The running game also improved, I still have some concern about the run blocking though.

 

Overall, good win. Score makes the Camels looks worse than they really played in the first half. They really deflated after the muffed KO return that set up Highlands with another score. What I really like is the tough defense, keep it going. I think I need more Huddy on the O. Also, throw it to Sissen every once in a while... Good job GO BIRDS.

Scott County next week should tell us more about Highlands.

 

All too much. Based on tonight, I don't think they're in a league with Scott County.

2nd half much better than the first for Birds. Finally decided to run outside the tackle box a little and had some success. Big game by Austin King. Really like the Noe kid in the secondary, seems to have a knack for the football. Also liked what I saw out of Buten, looks like a good running back.

 

Defense played pretty well overall and just need to keep plugging away and taking them one game at a time.

I disagree. I don’t think Scott County is as strong this year. I was surprised by this Highlands score tonight. Game is at Highlands this year. I think they beat Scott County next week.
