Butler defeated Bullitt East 49-0 last week and now host 2A power DeSales. DeSales continues their heavyweight tour of 6A schools, and looks to beat Butler after last weeks big win over St. Xavier. Butler wants to avenge their 1 point loss to DeSales from last year. Who wins this big matchup?

I cant pull against fellow Catholic programs except in rare cases involving X. Butler isn't better than X, DeSales by a few.

DeSales has some extra incentive to win this game. With that being said, i pick DeSales to win by 10.

Will be interesting to see how this game goes for both teams. I’ll definitely be following it.

What would be the extra incentive?

This is a tough one...

I think he’s referencing the good DeSales RB that transferred to Butler.

Butler is much, much better than they were last season.

Frank Caldwell is a beast! With that said, I still think DeSales will edge out a victory in what will be a very good game.

The DeSales back that transferred is not eligible to play. I think Butler has the motivation factor this year after losing by 1 last year. I hope DeSales doesn't come out with a hangover from Friday's game against X. I expect this to be another great game and wouldn't be surprised to see Butler win it.

I read where DeSales tried to block the transfer and after being ruled inelgible the decision has been appealed. I think this will add to the intensity of the big game.

Why would DeSales try to block the transfer? Someone posted that the young person was academically ineligible at DeSales. If that's the case, why should the Colts care one way or another?

Do not know but recruiting guru Dave Lackford of Rivals network is where I read it.

Could be that Butler is on DeSales schedule and didn’t want to have to play against him.

Not sure how Desales can be more up for a game after last week (they don't bring in extra bleachers every week). Normal human progression is to come down off that high of beating St X and everyone telling them great game and all. How much of the transfer issue is involved I have no idea. I like Butler by a TD.

I think Butler is going to come out hot and set the tone early. A win here prepares them for a win against X later. Desales is due for a letdown. It’s a mental game and the Bears are trending up. Desales is no doubt in better condition.
