First remember seeing him in "The Boys in Company C" another Vietnam War movie. He was great in that role also, basically the same role as in Full Metal Jacket.

RIP Gunny

Aw man, I hate that. Funnily enough while Full Metal Jacket is obviously his most memorable role, I always had soft spots for his role in Saving Silverman and Fletch Lives.

RIP Gunny

He was great as Mississippi mayor in the Mississippi Burning movie.

As serious as he could be in the war movies, and really appreciated him for that, his role in saving Silverman was downright funny. I don't think he ever played a role I didn't like. Full metal jacket one of my all time favorites. As long as it not the TV version. Lol

I agree on the Saving Silverman. He was great in that role and threw myself for a loop when he flipped his sexual preference.
