No conservative Christian will vote Democrat based on current platform. Fact. Trump needs Jesus, but unless the Dems change the platform I will vote for whoever the Rs run again and again and again. Im like McPapa its a sad situation and I think we all can agree on that.

You really think so? I just don't see how. I was flabbergasted he won the last election, and that unique cocktail of circumstances seems unlikely to happen again. The Supreme Court issue was an urgent one, and one that many pinched their nose about. He'd need that type of issue to come up again too.

 

I think so unless something changes. I dont agree with how he has acted, but his policies so far I will vote for again. As a matter of fact I have had several Democrats tell me they are changing parties and will vote. Alot liked the deregulation and tax breaks. $$$ talks. Watch and see.

With the political situation - I'm just tired. Very, very tired. I've said it before on here - and it's been said in what I've read in this thread - but this country needs a third party in the worst way. We at least need to take steps in that direction, both at local and federal levels. Don't give these clowns your vote because a D or an R is slapped in front of their name. Yes, initially, it is little more than a protest vote. And I am all for voting for a democrat or a republican (or any party) if their statements and platform seemed to be in a direction I approved of, and would vote for them again if they appeared to give a good faith effort for those goals. But until this country stops with this "well at least they're not the other party", then we are going nowhere at a blinding speed.

The political climate since 2015ish is what has led me to this mindset. I definitely was a blind party loyalist in the past. Now I just want to see someone to vote for that makes me some sense.

Haven't I been preaching this about a 3rd party. Please step up and be bold. Don't follow the $$$ of the 2 major parties and the lobbyists. Then people will speak when you show them what you stand for.

 

The problem is that a 3rd party will not survive unless enough are elected to have a major impact at all levels.

One thing has been made very clear - no one cares about the character of the President. Bill Clinton was blasted for his character issues and won two elections. Donald Trump's character flaws were on full display during his election and he was elected. I think Trump wins again the next election.

 

People care about policy. Whoever they believe can put their policy choices into action, they will vote for. Conservative Christians love Trump's Supreme Court pick. That actually may have been the number one campaign promise that helped Trump win the last election and he can play that again in the next election. Trump himself said during the election he could shoot someone in the middle of the street and still get elected and he is probably right. If Trump promotes policies the right likes, even the conservative Christians will overlook his character.

 

To the bold. Todays conservative Christian = platform policies/over morals. As the great Arsenio Hall would say. Things that make you go Hmmm...
