16thBBall Fan Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 (NCAA Final Four) Final Loyola just collapse the last 8 minutes. Michigan will take on the Villanova/Kansas winner on Monday night.
hrcarrier Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Too much Wagner, which was the absolute difference at the end for Loyola.
Mack The Knife Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Not sure about collapse. Talent finally won out over 40 minutes. Stepped up in class tonight. Great run, nonetheless.
sweet16 Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Not sure about collapse. Talent finally won out over 40 minutes. Stepped up in class tonight. Great run, nonetheless. And was leading up until the final stretch
sumoroyal Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Not sure about collapse. Talent finally won out over 40 minutes. Stepped up in class tonight. Great run, nonetheless. I would say collapse dust to the number of unforced turnovers. Best team won.
hrcarrier Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 One thing is certain, Michigan will need a very solid effort from start to finish against Villanova or Kansas. If they have a first half like they have had tonight and a couple other times, they could get in serious trouble.
Mack The Knife Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 And was leading up until the final stretch They led 47-43 with under 10:00. If that’s the final stretch I don’t call that a collapse.
Voice of Reason Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 One thing is certain, Michigan will need a very solid effort from start to finish against Villanova or Kansas. If they have a first half like they have had tonight and a couple other times, they could get in serious trouble. Michigan won't be facing Loyola's top 20 defense in the title game so they probably will look better in the first half. The reason they looked bad in the first half is because of Loyola' defense. And for the final stretch, give Michigan credit. They tweaked things on both ends of the floor and those little adjustments were the difference.
Hatz Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 It looked to me like the stage got too big for them in the last eight minutes.
Voice of Reason Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 It looked to me like the stage got too big for them in the last eight minutes. Every game they have played on has been a pressure packed game. It looked to me like Michigan made an adjustment on defense that messed up the passing lanes and got Loyola out of sync. I don't think it was pressure or stage too big or anything more than good adjustments by Michigan that caused turnovers at the right time and took away the layups that Loyola was getting out of their offense.
MBWC41 Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Michigan was the better team. Villanova will handle them fairly easily IMO.
Voice of Reason Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Wagner was definitely the difference. Loyola wins that game if not for Wagner.
sweet16 Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 They led 47-43 with under 10:00. If that’s the final stretch I don’t call that a collapse. I agree with you.
16thBBall Fan Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 It actually was 47-42 Loyola with 9:19 to play and they were outscored 25-10 the rest of the way.
gametime Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Michigan won't be facing Loyola's top 20 defense in the title game so they probably will look better in the first half. Instead they get Nova's #14 defense and #1 offense. Loyola was #17 on D and #63 on O. To assume they will look better Monday night would seem to disregard reason...
