Anderson County coach injured

Featured Replies

Longtime Anderson Co head coach, Glen Drury, was struck by a car while riding his bike between Lawrenceburg and Frankfort yesterday. Driver ran a stop sign and hit him at a high speed. He has several fractures in his pelvis but it is miraculous that it wasn’t worse. Please keep Coach and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear this...will be thinking of him and his family!

That's sad he has been through a lot. Prayers to him and the family.

Get lots of rest Coach.

Does anyone know if the driver was arrested?

Was all over Facebook last night. His son Daniel says his pelvis is essentially "shattered". Coach is tough though, he'll get through this. Praying for him and family.

How long has he been there?

No sure how long as a head coach but he has been at the school as an assistant and head coach since the early 80's.

So is he the coach that fell off of the lift changing lightbulbs in the gym back when I was in high school, 87 or 88?

Yes he is and has had permanent injuries from that fall.

31 Year’s at Anderson. A couple prior to that at Western Anderson

I remembered that happening. We played them twice that year. They beat us at their place rerun we beat them in the CKC tournament at Somerset later in the year. He was injured between the two games. Best wishes for a full recovery.
