Mercer beat Corbin easily on neutral court

First quarter score, 29 to 10, Mercer County.

Yes, I was really disappointed in this Corbin team. I saw them a couple weeks ago without A. Taylor and they looked really good, played as a team. Last night it was all about A. Taylor. I don't believe the kid has ever seen a shot he didn't like, LOL, just couldn't buy a basket. Never did try to get the other players involved, reminded me of watching Jon Hood.

Trevon Faulkner has to be a leading candidate for Mr. Basketball. All the kid does is win and in the process makes his teammates better. He excels in all facets of the game.

Trevon would get my vote

Trevon does all things well. He sees the court well, he can shoot the long ball, get to the rim whenever he wants, and brings SO much energy to the court. Not to mention his attitude. You won’t find a better, more humble teammate than Trevon. Some of you may say “okay, what does this have to do with bball?”, but the kid doesn’t even have a Twitter. Trust me, it has everything to do with the kind of kid (and player) Trevon is. He would for sure get my vote if I had a say in it.

I didn't see the game, but was told by someone there that Corbin did not share the ball and that Mercer did. Also said that Mercer had improved a lot since the last meeting.

 

Corbin is only as good as they are shooting the ball when they play this way.

Trevon would get my vote

 

Adam Kunkel deserves strong consideration as well. If these two were taken away from their teams, it would be devastating which Cooper already found out. Of course they are dominating players like several others in the state, but yet they are true team players that make those around them so much better.

 

They each will do well in college where their ability to fit in to a system will be an easy transition as they don't have to be the stars of a team like many high school kids struggle when they join a team full of talented players like themselves. They are my top co-favorites.

Agree. My top 2 as well.

What I like about Mercer County is they can score. I know the whole "defense wins championships" mantra, but points on the board puts pressure on the other team. They absolutely should vault to #1 in the 12th Region (if they weren't there already) after this week.

Mercer played very well all around. I was told one of the guards that played Saturday didn t play in the first meeting. They are good defensively....and as a team they shot it well.

 

Honestly I feel Trevon won Mr. Basketball before the season even started. He would have had to lose it by playing poorly or making a poor decision, which his character doesn't suggest he would do either of the two. His numbers are good and his team is good, but no disrespect because I love the kid, but most of Kentucky anointed Trevon Mr. Basketball a long time ago.
