January 31, 20188 yr Vandy is garbage, but tonight was a really good win. Close games are important throughout the year so you know how to close when it comes tournament time. This felt very tournament like tonight.
January 31, 20188 yr Btw if you added all of the walks that weren’t called tonight on Vandy they would have enough to make it back to Nashville.
January 31, 20188 yr A great game that shouldn't have been. Vandy seems to always play U.K. tough and B. Drew's last place team played hard and truthfully should have won tonight. U.K. didn't really start playing hard until around the 15 min. mark or so. 17 down on Sat. and 14 down tonight, I don't like having to do this before the Cats start kicking it in gear. Another thing that drives me nuts about this team is how they fail to stop the ball, several times Vandy players drove the ball directly thru and around us to the goal. G-Alexander was huge tonight with 30pts. and was 5/5 from the ft line, stepped up big just as Knox did at WVU. Also, the Cats outrebound Vandy, limited them to only a few offensive rebounds and really went after them. Another tough road game coming up on Saturday at Mizzou ....survive and advance
January 31, 20188 yr I'm sure I'll get ridiculed for even pointing this out, but Vanderbilt is getting better and they seem to have better team chemistry in the last two weeks. They are 2-2 in their last 4 games and the 2 losses were vs. ranked teams on the road.
January 31, 20188 yr I will take it, nothing to beat their chest about other than got after it real good towards the end of regulation and OT.

You’re post didn’t make any sense to me until I realized you were talking about Vanderbilt University and not Jarred Vanderbilt.
January 31, 20188 yr You’re post didn’t make any sense to me until I realized you were talking about Vanderbilt University and not Jarred Vanderbilt. Haha, he's getting better too. Vanderbilt isn't going to get it done this season, but I could see them getting 2 wins in the SEC Tournament.
January 31, 20188 yr It's a win, but ugh. What a stupid foul by the Vandy player with two seconds left seventy feet from the UK basket.
January 31, 20188 yr I love it! This team keeps learning imo. 2 valuable lessons tonight learned. Doesn't matter how nice that win was Saturday. You still have to show up and play even against a team with a horrible record. Most important lesson they learned though was not to give up at the end of the game. No matter how desperate it may seem. They had no business winning this game. However they made the plays when needed once Vandy gave them chances. This team has been horrible at the end of games most of this year. Now two games in a row they have won it at the end. They have to know how to handle these situations at the end of the game in the tournament. So games like this helps. I had to single this one out ...Great post fc. :thumb:
January 31, 20188 yr Watched a bit of this one and for this one game both team looked pretty evenly matched. The better team did win and shot only 45.3% for the game. Vandy was a tad better in shooting the ball 47.5%.
January 31, 20188 yr Not much energy out there on the floor last night outside of Richards in the 1st half. Add the fact that Cal was sick on the bench when he is normally up screaming.
January 31, 20188 yr The spin some of you are trying to put on this....:lol2: Vanderbilt, the team not the player, is terrible. They haven't won a game away from Nashville all season. The only positive to take away from this is the "W". End of the day, a win is a win no matter how small.
January 31, 20188 yr Btw if you added all of the walks that weren’t called tonight on Vandy they would have enough to make it back to Nashville. Definitely were a small handful that left me shaking my head.
January 31, 20188 yr One thing that will never change but is always annoying is the atmosphere at Rupp Arena during games like this. 20,000 people there and you can hear a pen drop at times.
January 31, 20188 yr Vanderbilt's execution at the end of regulation wasn't text-book. Merry Christmas UK fans, that was a gift -- take it, check the win column, and move on.
