I think you should be able to transfer freely as well. But if transfers aren't allowed, re-classification isn't enough of a reason to allow it. JMO.

If the "primary goal of the football" team is a state title then your logic says every kid at 98% of the schools in the state should be able to transfer regardless of what class their school participates.

In order for the KHSAA to make a change there has to be harm to a player. What is the harm ?

No. People don’t want to discuss classes for other sports but what to allow kids to transfer because they move up in classes. Most of the schools play schools that are in classes above them anyway during the season.

So, by giving them the opportunity to transfer in this situation, we’re telling them it’s OK to run away when things get a little tougher?

No. Why would a school choose to move up to get their brains bashed in every week? Think teams typically only move up if they think they can compete at the higher level. So I'm not seeing where a player is being forced into any unfair situations.

So should kids be able to transfer if they feel their school team isn't going to be good in a certain season? Jut go to the school where you think you can win?

Harm is subjective and to my larger point if the school makes a change I believe the student/family should be able to make a change.
