I think it will have a lot to do with what price point it's at.

 

I remember how thrilled I was when Shiner Bock finally came to Ky. Then I realized the outrageous transportation markup we were paying, and I just gave up on it. I got used to going down to Texas and visiting friends and paying $1.25 a can for Shiner. Now it's 9 bucks a six-pack.

 

Yuengling, at least in Ohio, is still comparatively priced to Miller Lite or Bud Light. I liked it on the beach in Charleston years ago, but gotta admit that it doesn't taste all that great back at home. I think it was more of a taste tied into the total experience than the actual beer itself.

hey, i gained 20 pounds on the Budweiser diet when I first turned 21. I'd go run a couple mile then house a 12 pack of diesel. I haven't had one I bet in 5-8 years and have had zero desire for it. I love Bock beer, but as said before the price is to much to justify buying unless a special occasion. I'm a true miller man, but will obviously adapt to my current situation quickly and drink what is being offered.

I make fun of the type of person who pretends that drinking an IPA makes them brotastic with their perfectly manicured beard and fade into a millenial pompadour. I will never make fun of the actual beer.

When I lived in PA, I split pretty evenly between Bud Light and Yuengling. I imagine that Yuengling Light will cut into my Bud Light consumption once it becomes available in KY.

 

I like craft beers...a lot. And I usually always have a six of some type of craft beer around. But they are mostly just too heavy for me to drink more than one or two at a time.

The beginnings of wussification of America coincides with the rise in the popularity of light beers. Beer flavored water....bleh

My comment was in response to light beer leading to the wussification of America. For the record I like both. I prefer a craft to mass produced beer like Miller Lite. That said both have their place. If I'm sitting on a beach for 8 hours I'm not sucking down 20 crafts. If I'm having a few with dinner or while smoking a cigar I'm most likely going with a craft or something more in that line.

Exactly. I'm not throwing back multiple craft beers because they are more efficient at bringing the buzz on. I'll have a couple with a meal, or as an occasional treat. For me, taste of craft beers has an inverse relationship with the amount drank. The more I drink, the less I enjoy the taste.

 

And craft beers simply don't do the trick on a hot summer's day after cutting the grass, tackling some household project, or kicking back and watching a game. In those situations, I'll take an ice cold Bud Light and be very happy with my choice.

Nothing I like more than 3-4 bud heavy’s while working in the yard. After that back to BL.
