Dayton, Holmes, Campbell Co and now NCC. I think in bout 15 year span.

Great hire for NewCath but a very questionable move by Lickert.

 

Why? Campbell County has gone as far as it can go w/ Steve and Steve has gone as far as he can go with Campbell County. One thing that will never be doubted about Steve is that he is his own man. He has been since we were banging heads in middle school basketball, and I'm sure well before that. I, personally, am pumped that NewCath got Steve. He and Eddie have a very similar demeanor and confidence.

 

Now, if 17 year-old Steve saw 40 year-old Steve become NewCath's head coach, I don't think that he would have been very accepting of the idea, ha ha.

How is the “discipline problem” going to be any different with him not in the building? This isn’t any different than Wags’ situation

 

The discipline problem isn't in the halls. There are plenty of people there to take care of that. The discipline problem is lent by being inconsistent with punishments and accepting of too many mental errors, IMO.

It still seems very difficult to run a fball program when your not in the building. There is more to this story that we don’t know yet.

Congrats to coach Lickert!!!

Agree that at least they went pretty far outside the box. Never in a million years would I have guessed Lickert would be NewCaths coach. His name never even came across my radar. Thinking, like a lot of us, he’s teaching at a public school and tenured has the retirement perk. Now if he can stay a teacher at CC while coaching at NCC then he hit a home run. Like said before he and the CC program have probably taken each other as far as they can. Good luck

How is going to a Class 2 school from a Class 6 school a "step in the right direction"?

CCHS beat NCC 35--7 last year, do you really think that the coach was the reason for the Camel win?

Certainly has a better chance of winning a title at NCC than at Campbell Cty.

He's never going to win a State title in 6A, period.

I don't see him having a teaching job at CC after this year.

What has Coach Lickert done at CCHS that makes you think that he has the coaching ability to lead any team to a State title? I realize that NCC has won State in the past, but that doesn't mean that it will happen in the future.
