January 11, 20188 yr I think Chuck(Aleksinas) was almost 7 ft. Big guy. I remember watching Tim play in HS. He shot the lights out at McCreary. He made Mike Phillips look fast. :lol2: He had a good career at UConn if I recall. He just never worked out at UK in the 1 and 1/2 seasons there. Stephens was a gunner but couldn't play a lick of defense. Ervin Stepp before there was an Ervin Stepp.

January 11, 20188 yr What’s “killed” College Basketball are those fans and media that have turned it into a 3 Week season... And the NCAA is partly to blame in that as well. Most pay little attention to the college hoops season until after the Superbowl. And with the rising popularity of the NBA, it is easy to say other sports do a much better job of marketing themselves through the year.
January 12, 20188 yr Not sure Pitino was without super stars. mashburn . Walker. Rhoades. Delk. Anderson. Mercer. McCarty. Not really chopped liver there. Pitino not only had star players but they were veteran stars. Could you imagine what Cal might have accomplished with Cousins as a Jr., Davis as a Soph, Knight as a Jr., Ulis as a Sr., Booker as a Sr., Wall as a Soph., KAT as a Jr. etc. Wouldn't even need these guys to stay 4 years as some of Pitino's players did. Just getting multiple years out of Cal's guys and his record and UK would be even better.
January 12, 20188 yr Not sure if this has been said but I think the one and done has made the NCAA tournament even more unpredictable. You have mid majors with junior/senior dominated teams making longer runs in the tournament.
