Vicious Christmas Eve pit bull attack leaves Kentucky woman dead, husband injured | Fox News

A woman was killed and her husband seriously injured after a vicious mauling by two pit bulls on Christmas Eve in a Kentucky coal town.

Two Bell County deputies responded to the scene Sunday morning in Arjay and discovered the woman and her husband “had been savagely attacked” by two pit bulls, the sheriff's department said in a statement. Investigators said the husband managed to shoot the dogs afterwards, killing one of them.

Ugh, another pit bull attack.

Pit bulls attacking? No way! They are such a sweet animal.

The article about the attack in Virginia that is linked in article linked in the OP is even more gruesome.

Story doesnt really tell you much. Were the neighbors in their yard or the dogs? Were the dogs provoked or not? Lots of unknowns in the article.

Does it matter? The dogs are dangerous. Don’t think this story would read ‘Family Hamsters mauled a family’

It absolutely does. If the neighbors were beating the dogs with a stick and they attacked them on their own peoperty, should we reallty be blaming the dogs here? Likewise, if the dogs just randomly attacked these people on the peoples property, then perhaps the dogs are the issue. Details mean a lot here, not unlike human interactions. Btw all dogs can be dangerous.

Pit bulls are absolutely the worst. I don't want my kids even in the same neighborhood as a pit bull.

I’m a huge dog lover, but 2 breeds I will never trust are anything with Pit in it and chows.

Same. A pit bull is capable of killing my kids. My kids are not capable of killing a pitbull.

So is any other dog breed.

Love dogs and have always owned one. Never had a Pitt Bull but currently own my 3rd German Shepherd. Love her, but I am always aware of the assertive nature of her breed. She is great for protection, but it is on me to make her behave.

I do believe certain breeds of dogs are more aggressive than others. It is the owner’s responsibility to train, and more importantly love and raise him/her properly.

Evening news said dog owner has been charged, but I missed with what they were charged.

Seems as if sht was in her own yard putting out bird seed as she did nearly every day when the dogs attacked her and her husband.

The owner of the dogs was already in jail for domestic violence and unlawful imprisonment and has now been charged in this case of harboring vicious animals.
