As a Mayfield fan, I've always followed the Rams from a distance and really respect the tradition they have and there fanbase are class acts.. Really glad to see you break through and make it to state. Good luck against the Tigers next week..

Congratulations to Luke Lemaster and the rams and fans. First school state championship game appearance in Raceland's 89 year history.
If he wants, he could probably be Mayor after next week. :lol2:

Made my first ever trip to Raceland this evening and it was well worth it. The crowd was huge and into it the entire game. The fireworks and horns as the teams entered the field set the stage for a great night of football. I thought Pikeville dominated the first quarter and I'm of the notion that they might have been the better team, but Raceland's defense kept coming up with stops and they were able to move the ball better in the second half. At the end of the game, seeing the excitement on the faces of the kids and fans, you could tell it was a long time coming for Raceland.

For Raceland, I was very impressed with running back Judd Adkins. He seemed to get better and better with every carry. And of course the kicker, Luke LeMaster, what a game winner! With all the pressure in the world, freezing cold temperature, and a trip to Lexington on the line, he absolutely nailed the field goal.

For Pikeville, I like the looks of their team. Only three seniors, I believe. They will be a force to reckon with in the future. Their defensive line was quick and tackled well. I LOVED the way Zack Roberts ran the football. My only criticism was I think they should have found the way to get the ball in the hands of Christian Billiter more. I think he could have done some damage with jet sweeps and underneath screens.

Bottom line, this was a great game between two terrific teams. I'm not sure if Raceland can beat Beechwood but just getting there is a giant monkey off the back of a program that has been really good for a really long time. I had a great night in Raceland and I'd encourage anyone in the state to find your way to a game there at least once.

I don't know if there's such an award in the KHSAA but if there's an "Assistant Coach of the Year" award ....then I nominate Coach Lewis, the Raceland defensive coordinator. This Season's defense imo would have to go down as one of if not The Best Defensive units in Raceland Football history ...and there have been some great ones. No one consistently ran on the Rams all season and if they did, it was in a first half and they were pretty much shut down in the 2nd half. Big plays burned the Rams more than once but sustained drives were practically non existent.

The second half was back and fourth.. Rams drive and scores, Pikeville drives and scores. Rams drive and score, Pikeville punts, Rams punt,Pikeville Punts, Rams drive down and kick game winning field goal..

This LCA Eagle dad couldn't be happier for you guys. You've been a class act for as long as I've been involved (10+ years), and always a worthy opponent.-----------Respect. (plus you've got the best high school concession stand food that I've ever experienced!)

And as for next week: Git-r-done!

Congratulations to Ram nation. It is going to be a fun week leading up to the title game.

Sincere congratulations to the Raceland Rams from the Brossart Mustangs!!!

We couldn't be happier for you!!!

Was 36 yards. The line of scrimmage was the 19 yard line.

As time passes, I have a feeling that FG might grow to 50 yards like a fish story. :-) Congratulations to Raceland! What a great win for a program that has always fielded solid teams but never gotten over the hump. The challenge now will be to not just be satisfied with making it and get ready to play Beechwood. Whatever happens, though, this fan is happy for all of Raceland.

Happy for the Rams and their faithful and loyal fans! What a great program the Rams have. I was shocked when I saw last night this was their first ever trip to the finals with all the great teams and tradition they’ve had in the past. Hope you all are able to finish it all off against the Goliath.

Congrats to the young Rams as well as their loyal fanbase! Good luck in Lexington, I'm thinking about making the trip down Friday myself.
