Congrats Centurions!

CAL is healthy and wanted it more tonight! Milton Wright is hands down the best player in 2A.

Not a surprise here to me. Cal is healthy and on the road to a state championship.

CAL is on the road to a rematch with Danville.

What did Wright do tonight?

I'm sure Mayfield will be happy to know that they've already lost next week.

I've watched Milton Wright for three years now, and this guy is simply a joy to watch. Nobody single-handedly wins a football game, but he came close. DeSales was up 3-0 at the end of the first half. CAL throws a Hail Mary, Desales has at least two guys that commit pass interference against him, and he overpowers them and comes down with the ball. Then he returned the second half kickoff for a TD. He changed the game in about 15 clock seconds. He added a 3rd TD from about 40 yards out later from the Wildcat. I mention in the game thread that I think they under-utilize him. He got less than 10 touches, maybe only 7 or 8. If he had touched the ball 15-20 times it would have been worse.

Oh Wireman you are sooooo hilarious! You win the Internet post of the day!

DeSales lost their best RB early in the first quarter, and their QB early in the third, but it was because CAL was popping them. They played extremely physical football, and they have a sophomore lineman who was pancaking people over and over. I learned after the game that he got an offer from UL today. He's just a sophomore. I said on one thread that somebody would have to bring it to beat the Colts. CAL brought it, and then some.

I guess my question is simple...why would you ever kickoff to Milton Wright?

I'm not sure any team this season has kicked to D'Mauriae VanCleave. Not even once. He managed to field a punt or two just because he ran up and made a risky play but I don't recall anyone kicking to him intentionally.

It was definitely an interesting game. In warmups Desalee was on the 50 yard line with balls and water bottles on Cal's side of the field. I guess rules don't apply when trying to protect your logo? I also like that the tried to herd the Cal fans into one section in the far corner of the stadium. Even had someone from the Sherriff's office trying to make sure no fans were sitting too close to the center of the field. In the end, after the game I heard reports that one of Desales fans actually attacked one of the CAL couches. I also wonder how the visiting team is placed in front of the Home fans in a playoff game. There were home fans harassing our coaches and from the stands. Maybe I,m misreading that rule as well as to the placement of benches and fans. The way I'm complaining you would think CAL lost.

DeSales' kickoff approach was completely insane. They kicked short, but not real high, so Wright started deep then is running with a full head of steam when he catches it. Obviously he took one to the house and looked capable of breaking the other.

If I'm DeSales, I want to kick it through the endzone. That might be asking too much from the kicker, so why not squib it on the ground? The way they handled the kicking game made absolutely no sense.
