Especially in another country where your rules don’t apply? This is basic common sense. College kids are still adults and even our legal system would treat them as such.

November 9, 20178 yr Update just came out from Bleacher Report a few minutes ago. 20 days house arrest and banishment for China is the likely sentence...according to recent reports. They would only miss about 4 games.

Agreed on the latter part but all college kids are adults and should be treated as such. All college kids should know by now in their life (hell there are elementary students who know this) that stealing is wrong lawfully and morally, doubly so in another country. And I’ll leave it at that as we aren’t going to come to an agreement on this issue.

Pretty much what I expected. They would have spent that time in "home confinement" regardless while waiting on the judicial system so my guess is they took a plea saying they won't come back and China accepted under the condition that they still have to spend the time in confinement that they would have had to spend while waiting on the judicial process.
November 9, 20178 yr I agree...but who has to pay for the hotel...The players or UCLA? I think NCAA rules will force the players to have to either pay for their rooms or pay UCLA back for them. Lavar is likely paying for it.

I assume this is not confirmed yet. I saw President Trump stepped in today to ask China to help with situation. I don't think he would do that if the sentence has already been issued.
November 14, 20178 yr Why were they in China during basketball season? Because a game was scheduled there.
November 14, 20178 yr Will UCLA kick them off the team? No...may get sat down a few games when they get back, but they won't toss them off the team. If I was UCLA Coach/Player/Administrator/Fan I'd be very embarrassed by their actions.
