I didn't see this result coming.....I was not aware young Mr. Chisolm was hurting this much.....

 

My question is why? Ryle was a good team this year, but no where near as good as last years Ryle team. Last year's Ryle team was at least 21 points better than this year's Ryle team. It was weird to see this year's team get talked up more though.

 

This year's Ryle team was definitely good but more flaws than last year's. They were one dimensional, but was a great running game. Defense was good but not great. Ryle definitely was still a top 10 team, just not a top 5 team imo that could compete with other top teams like Male, St.X, Scott County like people may have thought. Last year's Ryle team could compete with those guys besides Trinity. So I just found it weird at least on here that more people around the state seemed to talk more highly of this year's Ryle team than last years.

I did not expect this for Ryle.

Raiders gutted it out all season, injuries across the board, every player hurt this season continued to play while hurt. I can speak for my son, he played 3+ games with a torn shoulder labrum that got exponentially worse each practice and each game. Finally had to call it a season and have surgery. Chiz played hurt, Clarkson (TE) played hurt, Cusick (DB), Smith (DE), Golden (DE), Pilyer, England, the the list goes on. Other players stepped up all season. That’s football, next man up and perform. This team has a bunch of tough kids

Played with noticeable limp. Tough kid who just didn't have his normal burst.

 

Great kid, great player. Shows how great he was, even with an injured ankle he still put up numbers that most healthy running backs would want in a game. He is a stud. Definitely was fun to watch.

Wow...I expected Butler to be tough, but I would have guessed the Raiders had this one.

 

Congratulations to the Bears on the big win in the first round, and congratulations for a good season by the Raiders. Wish we could have seen Jake Chisholm play in another game or two, but hats off to Jake on a fantastic performance on his senior year.

Chisholm at about half speed and Ryle losing their QB early in the 3rd quarter took it’s toll on the Raiders

 

Injuries take a toll on a team, Ryle has seen this before in the past and they should be proud of the season they had.

I was thinking the same thing but I think Ryle was the only team in the state last year that could compete with Trinity.

Their game against Scott county had some key guys go out with injuries and they still should have won that game but came up just a little short.

Continue to preach, most very good high school football teams are an injury away from a potential upset. Might be the QB, might be a running back (Chisolm at Ryle), or the dominant defender. That's why I would never annoint any state champion in any division until the game is played. Scares me to see how my Beechwood Tiger mates are so confident in their quest. If Chisolm was healthy, Raiders win this game...simple as that.

Having had the opportunity to coach these kids as Freshmen I can vouch for their grit and determination one can never account for coaching decisions made in the heat of battle that being said running off your goal line with a back up QB and a sophomore RB who has not played in two weeks may not be the best choice, finally it’s the little things that come back to haunt you, the punting game must be practiced every day or it will come back on your face, Congratulations to Great bunch of kids you are special in so many ways,

100 percent agreed !! This group of seniors were blessed to have you coach them as Freshman. So are their Parents !!

Ryle had a very good football team this year. What a great season! Something they should be proud of. When's their next Title run? Seems like it once every 8-10 years.

You always have to take NKY 6A ball with a grain of salt.

Ryle finished the season as #2 in Northern KY. Losing to a middle of the road Louisville team shows that football in the northern part of the state wasn't strong this year.

 

From the games I saw this year Ryle was limited offensively to a great running back and no passing game.

 

I will miss watching Chisolm.
