Missed the game last night but man it sounds like it was a good one. Birds are about 1 minute of game time combined in the last two weeks from turning the tables on their regular season record. Good to see they made a game out of it and hopefully they are starting to feel themselves a little bit. Get the swagger back and start finishing these games! Go Birds!

I find it hard to believe BW told Shearer he would never play at HHS. Family circumstances took him to SK. He has become a good QB.

I find it hard to believe BW told Shearer he would never play at HHS. Family circumstances took him to SK. He has become a good QB.

 

He apparently told other football players that he would never play for him so it was indirectly. His freshman year they moved him from QB to another position so he left and was the freshman starter at SK. The rest his history.

I've heard the Shearer story as well, from multiple sources. They moved the kid from QB, so he went down the road and is going to get a D1 scholly....as a QB

It's true! That was big talk three yrs ago. Ran there future right off!

To the best of my knowledge, his only current D1 offer is from Morehead State, which is Division 1 FCS.

I think if Shearer waits, he will get a D1 offer. Morehead is D1 FCS, but they aren't going to pay his tuition. If he keeps putting up numbers, someone will come calling.

I'm not saying Highlands is going to beat Cov Cath or is ready for them or whatever that means. But, you can't just add up scores of similar opponents and that is how much better a team is than an other team. Each game is a separate deal and playing SK to the finish showed they can do some things. Cov Cath could have things go bad, it is a rivalry game. I think Highlands has and will improve as the years goes on. Hopefully Cov Cath overlooks the Birds.
