I'm not saying Highlands is going to beat Cov Cath or is ready for them or whatever that means. But, you can't just add up scores of similar opponents and that is how much better a team is than an other team. Each game is a separate deal and playing SK to the finish showed they can do some things. Cov Cath could have things go bad, it is a rivalry game. I think Highlands has and will improve as the years goes on. Hopefully Cov Cath overlooks the Birds.

 

Something tells me that this isn't a possibility for the regular season game. Now, if they win by a large margin, it may, oddly, be possible in the playoffs.

Assuming that BWs comments about Shearer never playing QB at HHS are true, does that place doubt about BW's ability to evaluate talent? Clearly, Shearer has proven BW wrong.

Calling baloney on the comments about Shearer being told he would never play QB at Highlands. My understanding is that he moved from Fort Thomas where his dad lives to Independence where his mother lives. Also that he was going to share time with Schoellman at the frosh level that season and did not return to HHS after the dead period was over.

 

Always amazes me how these stories grow legs and about 1/3 is fact and the remainder is he said, she said, they said and so on and so on.

Cov Cath is due for a lapse in concentration - it happens with HS kids, especially after a strong start against a very tough schedule.

This conversation needs to keep to the Simon Kenton/Highlands game.

All this game really may have reaffirmed is that Highlands isn't all bad and SK is not dominant. Most of us already knew that. Two good but not great teams. (In NKY context)

Jon Sergent is the starting RB, but hasn't played since the St. X scrimmage. Hammack has done a great job filling the position to this point.
