South Warren is a lot better than most of us thought myself included. At beginning of the year most thought 4-6 to 6-4 but now it's looking more like 8-2 or better.

 

Greenwood isn't as good as most of us thought. They are struggling on defense and from what I understand they have some injuries to their running backs which makes the rely heavily on Jackson Adams for scoring and offense.

 

Bowling even with the two losses still have the talent and skills to be the favorite out of the west in 5a and the district.

 

The next few weeks with District play will begin to tell us a lot.

I think T wins 6A again this year with the most competition coming from X and PRP. X at this moment doesn't have a good enough defense to slow down T's offense. I think the opposite about PRP. They have some dudes on defense, but don't know if they can be effective enough to score enough on T's D.

I think PRPs defense is really good, and will give them a shot against the top 6A teams. They're good enough to beat Male, and good enough to give X all they want in a couple of weeks.

I got to see PRP Friday night and they are very talented. Plenty of speed on the field and some decent size. They have a defensive lineman that will give anyone fits. They will hold their own against Male and X. If they catch some breaks, they could beat either of them.

To be fair, you could pick two teams in each class to win state preseason and be right. FB in KY is easy. Same schools year after year with a rare interloper.

The folks in Ohio laugh when I tell them the number of teams in each one of our six Divisions and think what we call a State Champion in Football is indeed laughable and can't quite understand why so many teams make the playoffs and why Ky has so many divisions with so few teams.

 

Then I tell remind them that in Basketball we have only one State Champion while they have how many? :-)

 

As far as your prediction, Guru you aren't going to like this but....

 

One game at a time, one win at a time and getting better each time out. The next game is against Beechwood, so Beechwood is the only game CovCath will worry about this week. You and others can predict all you want but CovCath will work and get ready for Beechwood and Beechwood only.

Depends on what division they'd be playing in. If it was GCL South, maybe Trinity (that's a big maybe too). Don't see anyone else that I'd confidently say would/could.

 

Now if they played in the GMC, a few more teams could make a case.

 

Ohio playoffs are also heavily weighted by strength of schedule. Tougher teams with good records give teams more points. That's why St. X went 5-5 but still made the playoffs (and won the D1 state title!)
