What does it say to the rest of 3A that the #1 team in that class lost to a 1A school?

 

Not just any class A school! Beechwood! I've been on here long enough to know that Beechwood is NOT your typical class A school. People need to realize that Beechwood is way bigger than class size! It's all about Brotherhood!!!

Not surprised from a Mayfield fan! I love Noel, but he'll never be Yeagle!!! Yeagle would've figured Y'all out after '95 and never looked back since had he been himself! Not taking ANYTHING away from Mayfield! Unbelievable program and unbelievable success, but Beechwood has never been the same since Yeagle's demise!

We can play the what if game all night. Don't take anything away from the kids. This was two great #1 teams going at it. I'm sure the Tigers would love to take a visit to Corbin, heard its beautiful down there!!

 

I am already looking forward to going to Corbin next year. I saw video of their Alcoa game. The stadium looks nice. Both teams lose their excellent QB's but both teams look to have some very good players coming back. It should be another great game.

Corbin is a solid team. The QB is a load to bring down, and he has a nice touch on his passes. He goes through his progressions real well too. The defense is solid, but they struggle covering the deep ball. Beechwood went over the top multiple times in the 2nd half.

 

Corbin has been very good against the deep pass all year, and the opponents have tried it too many times for their own good in my opinion. The difference is that Beechwood set Corbin up for the long throw very well and then executed it.

Great win for Beechwood! I think what's understated here is the fact Beechwood has an elite Secondary. McKenney takes away a whole side of the field and Massie, Castleman, Mescher and the crew really get after at. Upfront the Tigers are really getting after it causing a lot of rush decisions. Go Tigers! It's Coming together!!

Corbin never wins when they travel up I-75 to northern KY. At least, it hasn't happened in my lifetime. Coach Haddix, find you a big strong youngin' with a big strong leg that can get kickoffs down the field instead of poochin' the damn ball to the 35 and 40 every time. Corbin's okay but I'm not convinced yet that they are any better than last year's squad. The execution last night left much to be desired... Mayfield by 34.

Belfry is the team to beat in 3A.

Beechwood is definitely a "draw" school in NKY. If you live in Kenton Or Boone Co and you want to win a State Championship you go to Beechwood. No offense to SK, Cooper or Ryle but going through Trinity is a hurdle nobody has done yet. CovCath is turning their program around so O see them also drawing kids who want to win a ring.

I respect Mayfield they are a great team and a great program but it isn't in his dreams. There were some Beechwood teams when both Yeagle and Noel coached that would have beaten Mayfield had they made it to the semis! I can name at least 4 or 5 teams that would have beat them.
