Hurricane Harvey

Featured Replies

Tropical Storm Harvey is predicted to move back off shore Monday evening regain some strength then move back on shore in Texas Tuesday morning. For now, this system is not predicted to move away from Texas until the end of the week. Some models are now showing upwards to 50" of rain for parts of Texas by the time this storm moves on.

As of now, Harvey is actually feeding off of its self. That is what is causing the tremendous rainfall total this weekend.

Hats off to the "Cajun Navy" heading to the Houston region!

Literally an armada of boats and volunteers to assist and help folks in need!!!:thumb:

I have friends who live Houston. They have lived through every hurricane from Alicia to Harvey and she has said this is the worst she has ever seen and is actually nervous for what may happen the next 3-4 days.

Houston could possibly see up to 50" of rain which is their average in a year.

They are asking for general population who have high vehicles or boats to call a number to volunteer time to rescue people because outside help can't get there fast enough. It is really bad.

Please pray for Houston!

Did I hear right that Mayweather gave $200 million to the relief efforts?!?

49" of rain reported? New continental landfall record.

JJ Watt set up a fund with a goal to raise $200,000. It's already exceeded $4 million. He reset the goal to $5 million. I have this feeling it will blow by that, too.

JJ's going to have to reset his goal again. I went to donate and the total was almost $4.8 million.

Thank you for donating.

He surpassed the $5M mark. Whenever you watch his videos doing an update on this he is always shocked that it keeps going. I am so glad Houston has him. He is a class act through and through.

I know Houston will not be short of college athletic apparel to wear. Naturally I would know that USF had sent some, but I've seen tweets and Facebook postings from Ohio State, Michigan, Kentucky, Alabama, UCLA, ..., etc. all sending gear. Saw one from Canisius College, this morning.

He posted an hour ago that it was $5.1 million now with a new goal of $6 million. I'm making a donation after I click submit.

We are doing a fundraiser at work tomorrow and anything we collect in donations from employees or members, the company is going to match and send to an agency for help in Houston.

Split the Pot last night at the Reds game that typically goes to the Reds Community Fund was being donated in some capacity through the Reds/MLB. I'd imagine they will do the same tonight and tomorrow.
