Hurricane Harvey

Thought I would start a thread on this one because I believe it's going to be a devastating storm for southeast Texas. Looking to make first landfall in a few hours as a Category 3 storm. Current models actually show it "back tracking" and returning to the Gulf later this weekend, only to make landfall again.

15+ inches of rain expected in parts of SE Texas, just through tomorrow.

I saw earlier possible 6-9 feet storm surge in some areas...that will devastate that area. I can't believe so many are riding it out that are in the surge zone...Stupid, Stupid, Stupid.

Hey @nWo, do you think this will do the "Ike" path and come near us at the end of next week?

As of now the storm looks to still be over Texas by next Wednesday.

Just saw an update that it's built to a Cat 4!

If you can cancel or reschedule I would. I heard the New Orleans mayor say they were not prepared with flood control with what is expected. They are still working on infrastructure in the city

You can expect 2-4" of rain by Tuesday afternoon. These totals could go up. I also expect a lot of flight cancellations.

As expected the possible rain accumulations have gone up for the New Orleans area. The GFS is now showing a possible 5-8" of rain for New Orleans by Wednesday evening. There is a possibility of these totals going up.
