As a Birds fan, I am hopeful that they are on the road to getting back to the top. That said, one game is not enough to tell me that. I would have liked to see a bit more from the offense. Defense was solid.

Not after 1 game but the confidence of an opening win will help as they roll into this week's game vs a very good Camel team.

After a convincing win over Cooper, is Highlands back to their dominating ways? Was the downfall of the Blue Birds exaggerated? What can we expect from Highlands this season?

No. If you actually watched the game you would know Highlands isn't close to being the Highlands of old.

I hope that HHS fans aren't seriously using this game as their measuring stick on being "back" or not. Any win is a good win but they did what they were expected to do, beat a very young and inexperienced, not very good Cooper team. I certainly didn't leave that game saying "wow, I am thoroughly impressed and Highlands is back".

If they start out 3-0 which will have to include beating SC I would say there are on their way to being back.

Lots of generational pride in this program. It has to have been hard to see the decline. Could very well be a make or break season for this coaching staff.

You're not speaking for anyone that has been around Highlands Football for almost 50 years. However I will say that I did see the other night that Highlands is playing more aggressive than they have in the last couple of years. It's night & day! Still would like to some Personnel Changes sooner rather than later.....

You cannot & I mean that in all seriousness have your now #1 RB and Friday Night's Player of the Game on the Front line on the Kickoff return team blocking who has proven that the Ball must be in his Hands....

At some point the Seniority & Entitlement Crap needs to be thrown out the Window.

There's my Sunday rant!

Coop should at least be in that row in front of the deep guys.

I think the next couple weeks will show who needs to be on the field.

After 1 game Highlands is back?? I believe that this week will be another win for Highlands against Campbell Co. Campbell Co defense is much better than last year (35 ppg given up in 2016) but lacks speed and agility in the back end of the secondary. Highlands will exploit this and the passing attack for HHS will be successful. Highlands must penetrate and be disciplined on run D or Alex Dowds will have another big night and keep CCHS competitive. Highlands will not lose to CCHS two years in a row....Ft Thomas may burn if that happens!!!

I look and see: Highland 35 Campbell Co 20

This is the year Cov Cath fans have been waiting for - destroy Highlands, win state championship. Both will happen.

10/13 night game at CCH won't be pretty...

I would pump the brakes on this. Highlands played pretty decent against Cooper but Cooper also provided them with a short field all night long. Cooper played god awful and Highlands took advantage of it. Don't read to much into this one game

Cooper shot blanks when HHS was throwing picks and blowing snaps. A good team would have had the Birds put away at halftime. Cooper's offense was painful to watch and HHS eventually got a little confidence in the passing game and put the game away. I would not use this game as a measuring stick. This doesn't mean that HHS will not be a good team by the end of the year, but, there is nothing from that game tape that will put fear into an opponent.

I love when a "Highlands is back" thread that was started by a non-Highlands supporter throws people into a tizzy! LOL!

One game at a time, boys and girls! Go Birds!
