Yeah I'd hope so, Cov Cath's got as many boys in 1 and a half grades than Beechwood does in their High School. You should steamroll use every year. But, you don't. Now lets get back to the thread please, see you next Friday.

 

I have been on the Beechwood bandwagon since last year. They have a strong JR class.

After tonight's win, I'd give them the title of "Heavy Favorite" at the very least.. IMO, tonight's win is probably the best regular season win they've had in the last 7-8 years.. In saying that, it's just 1 game, and doesn't mean much in the big picture and what you see from teams now aren't always what you see 8 or 9 weeks down the road.. Some teams figure things out and get better while others hit a wall and regress.. You never know.. I will say Paintsville, Hazard and KCD all have enough talent and skill to beat the Tigers on any given night.. Outside of those, I don't think any other team on there best day could beat Beechwood on one of there worse ones..

Beechwood will roll through 1A. Great win for them.

Beechwood should win every year with Mayfield moved to another class.

They may be the favorite but this year Hazard and Paintsville will give them all they can handle.The next two years Pikeville will give them all they can handle.I don't know this for a fact but I am being told that Pikeville has only one senior on the team this year.So I don't think its going to be a cakewalk for Beechwood the next few years like a lot of people think.jmo

I was recently looking at the latest enrollment reports and it looks to me like Beechwood and possibly even Pikeville may well move up to an already loaded 2a in the next realignment.. As strong as these 2 are, It got me to thinking, where would these teams stack up in 2a if the realignment had taken place this year.. I know it's irrelevant at this point, but, out of curiosity and just for good conversation, would like to hear what everyone's opinion would be..

Hard to argue with beechwood not being the prohibitive favorite. Beechwood is always tuff as nails, but no way I thought they would beat Corbin. And even IF Corbin was overrated, that was one heck of a win by the tigers, but the games still have to be played, and way to many variables yet to play out. While not as big of a ( oh wow what a huge win) I remember one year when mayfield beat beechwood at mayfield in the semi'a and most everyone, at least in these parts thought that it was over, mayfield was going to win the state championship. Heck even the radio announcer said mayfield just won the state championship. Hazard had something to say about that. I'd still put my hat in the ring as the tigers will win it all, but, not to sound redundant, it ain't over till it's over.

Corbin is good. They beat the #1 team in TN 3a and that team only lost 28-24 to 6a TN powerhouse Maryville last night. Maryville was #1 in 6a or was.

Didn't Beechwood beat CCH 10 yrs in a row at one point? Or something like that....Should that EVER happen? NO RESECT EVER!!!

 

You're going to have to explain how my post was disrespectful? Saying a team should win their class every year? In a thread started by a Beechwood person? Obviously the Beechies are a very heavy favorite to win it all.

This was the same thought I had. Everyone thought the semifinal between Beechwood and Mayfield was the state title game. Hazard won a clear victory the next week over Mayfield.

 

There are many games left and some very tough ones on Beechwood's schedule. It will be amazing if Beechwood wins all their regular season games against their schedule. Anything can happen in the next two months. Beechwood is the favorite. There are several teams good enough to beat them. The state championship trophy will not be mailed to anyone. It will be picked up in person by the team that earns it.

Listen guys Great Win for Beechwood but a couple of things we are forgetting here... A). Beechwood still has some work to do. Lots of things to improve. B) You guys are stating all these things without accounting for injuries and other factors. 2 Years ago I thought they were going to go all the way and then Stringer went down forcing Slusher to have to do everything. Limped to the state game and got waxed by Pikeville. So lets cool our heels and let this stuff play out the games still gotta be played!
