Which will ultimately cause this team to leave Cincy in 10 years because they want have the attendance to support the team.

Random question not necessarily on topic with the OP, but...

 

What about the players for FCC? If they move up next season, will it be with the guys they currently have, or will the roster be revamped with "MLS caliber" talent?

 

Totally redone. They will be an MLS franchise, and MLS central control model means that instead of having it like the USL does, in which teams own all of their own players’ contracts, MLS will now be the actual owner of all rights to players that play in Cincinnati.

 

Oh Cincy fans get ready for that fun moment when you think something cool is about to happen they they change the rules to favor a team in LA or New York over you. It’s the main conplaint I used to hear from Columbus Crew supporters (well, up until the “Wait what you’re moving our team to Texas?” complaints recently).

Sounds like Cincy will start MLS play in '19. They'll play in Nippert for two years while the new stadium is built.

 

I also think there's a chance they try to keep a few guys from the current squad.

 

Ledesma, Albadawi, and Lasso are guys that had been tabbed as having "MLS potential" before Cincy signed them. Pretty sure Albadawi even signed a multi-year contract so he could be one of the foundational players if they made the move.

 

Of course, if the expansion pool is attractive enough, it could be a 100% overhaul. But Ledesma and Albadawi are both creative enough in the offensive third to at least be bench players for an MLS side, and Lasso is solid enough to be a depth piece on defense.

With a rebrand coming I hope they don't change the orange and blue colors.

I have a question.....why did they limit the attendance threshold in the new stadium to 21,000? This may be a hard ticket to get for the average person when it is completed. Better go in 2019 or 2020 in Nippert while we have the chance.

Ticket prices can be expected to at least double in MLS; more for the more premium seating. They’re probably counting on demand moving to match that as the years go by.

Thats been my thought as well, at least in the sections I tend to work and the enterance I post up next to.

 

But, it seems to consistently be used by those that are pessimists against FCC and this move.
