First launch in almost a decade. I’m downright giddy right now.

The Falcon project is amazing. I can only imagine how much money is saved being able to reuse the entire first stage rocket.

I think I saw earlier that the scrub date is May 30.

GAHHHH! Scrapped 15 minutes before launch. Bad weather.

If the two-part photo I posted shows up, the top one is the screens from the interface on the screen from inside the space shuttle Endeavor. That last launch was only nine years ago.

The future is now. That's the interface the pilots see in the cockpit. It genuinely feels like real-life has caught up to sci-fi here.

Set to go just after 4:30 pm today. Had it on in the background for a couple hours now. First manned launch from American soil since the last shuttle flight in 2011. I'm fascinated by this. As a long-time supporter of the space program, I've been waiting a long time for this.

I think the pro leagues have known this was coming for a while. Just two weeks ago, in the middle of all this business, little ol' Louisville City FC in USL announced the coaches for youth teams in the new academy in something like 14 different age groupings counting both boys and girls. It was a big jump and clearly they think there's money to be made and talent to be found.

This has been building for a while. MLS academies weren't happy with the inconsistent level of competition, USL has entered the game and has a bunch of teams in ECNL, and US Soccer has no capable leadership at all. Youth soccer in the US remains the Wild West. Don't see that changing anytime soon.

Friend of a friend passed this week. I'd never met him. Corrections officer in New York who undoubtedly caught it on a shift at Rikers Island. Died alone in his house trying to keep away from his family. Curse this miserable thing. Stay safe everybody.

I'm on Day One of work from home protocol at the office. It's still open (since we all have separate offices and plenty of independent space), but in-person client meetings have been cancelled. The courts closing made this a lot easier... can't miss deadlines if there aren't any.

I worry about it specifically because of my 95-year-old grandmother and my girlfriend's 70-year-old father who's recovering from recent surgery and has respiratory problems. Extremely vulnerable people to this particular disease. I worry less about me getting it. I worry a lot about me being out somewhere and then taking it on to them before I even know I'm carrying it.

If everyone wasn't able to play in the tournament, I'd agree with you. If only two teams made the post season from a district and everyone else stayed home, sure. But that's not how it is. Every team gets a chance to made a run. It's a really, really, really tough thing to string together enough consecutive wins to win a title in a single-elimination format. That weak district will get their two teams in and probably be out on the first day of regionals... but everyone gets that shot.

I think they can win a game -- maybe even two -- if the pairings break right, but this whole thing runs through Male or Ballard and it would be a huge upset for someone else to win the 7th.

What's nice about this new world without cable providers and set-top boxes is that it's not much more complicated than about a few clicks if I decide to switch from YouTubeTV to Hulu Live or one of the other services that still carries the Fox Regionals.
