April 6, 20188 yr Author Councilman PG Sittenfield is holding a press conference right now. It appears the West End, CPS, and FCC have come to an agreement for the stadium to be in the West End. Didn't hear everything, but it sounds like $25MM going to CPS from FCC. Also sounds like FCC will be responsible for 100% of property taxes on the developments, with no property tax burden being passed to the residents. Another $15MM from FCC will be invested in residential developments around the stadium site. Here's what the rough development plan looks like for the West End stadium.

And you thought parking on Saturdays was bad down there before... Definitely. And the folks living in all of the Laurel Town House development immediately to the west of Stargel Stadium with no off-street parking and little to no road frontage for on-street parking in the first place are going to be pretty darn unhappy about this, assuming they don't figure out how to control parking there on game days to keep FCC parking out. I hope this whole development requires some kind of measure for the parking situation.

Laughed because I figured it was a ploy to achieve another objective to revive that part of town?
April 6, 20188 yr So what if they dont get an MLS bid? Do they still build it? Just said on radio that the stadium deal is contingent upon getting an MLS Franchise, no MLS no stadium.
