March 14, 20188 yr If I am CPS, I negotiate. I tell them I need more time to consider that offer. Don't have the time.
March 14, 20188 yr Why not? Whose fault is it if they don't have time? Whose fault it is, doesn't really matter. They have to have a finalized stadium plan to MLS by 3/31. If CPS accepts the offer, they have to go back to the City and get new funding approval. They can ask for more time, but FCC would most likely walk away at that point.
March 14, 20188 yr Author If I am CPS, I negotiate. I tell them I need more time to consider that offer. I'm not one who responds well to being told what I have to do by folks who have nothing to do with me. FC Cincinnati is up a creek because they admittedly have spend $1 million acquiring other properties around the West End in anticipation of the deal. CPS turned down an offer from FCC on Monday, and then within two days FCC comes back with an offer twice the size of the first. If I'm CPS, I call their bluff, turn down the present offer, and see if they come back with another offer. The current offer is basically just giving them money to cover property taxes with, plus a new relocated version of the current Taft HS stadium. Sure, money is money, but I say try to get some more out of them.

I believe all of that makes FCC look bad. If I am CPS, I tell FCC none of that matters to me. I have an obligation to do my due diligence and if I can't get that completed by 5 p.m. then no deal. If the stadium goes somewhere else, so be it.

March 14, 20188 yr They could also tell MLS to take a hike and do whatever they wanted but... gotta get that SUM money, sonnnnnn.
March 14, 20188 yr CPS has shot down FCC's revised proposal from this morning. Good, they need to stop the flash show and get back to being a minor league soccer team.
March 21, 20188 yr Author This really REALLY made me laugh this afternoon. The FCC stadium location saga is beyond the point of ridiculous. Did FCC Pick A Site Yet? @FCCStadiumWatch 22m22 minutes ago No. Edited March 21, 20188 yr by Colonels_Wear_Blue
March 21, 20188 yr The unfortunate part of this is its going to end up in Newport, and be Kentucky's problem, boo.

March 26, 20188 yr The unfortunate part of this is its going to end up in Newport, and be Kentucky's problem, boo. We don't want their stadium in KY. Soccer will always be a minor league sport compared to the other pro sports. I don't know why people want to play it, yet alone watch it. I think it's more of a party thing in the stands and less that they care about watching a ball get kicked back and forth. Plus, based on all of KYs pension issues, there better not be a huge tax relief given like FCC was trying to do to CPS.
March 26, 20188 yr We don't want their stadium in KY. I can only speak for myself (and my friends that I've talked to), but I absolutely want it in Kentucky if given a choice. It's a much better location than either Oakley or the West End IMO.
