Brent Spence Bridge Maintenance Project

Won't theFeds will be involved as well since it is an interstate highway?

Currently I believe the way it works is the feds send the money to the state. There is supposed to be a big infrastructure Federal bill coming so we will have to wait and see if things change under that new bill if it ever passes.

Does anybody know how much the state is paying for the construction on the Mountain Parkway? Just based upon the amount of dirt that's been moved, I can't imagine it's been cheap. I'm curious, because in the 20+ years I've been driving it to get to the in-laws in Martin County, I've never seen an accident. So, is there that much of a demand to get people from Lexington to Pikeville or vice versa, that much faster? Just seems like that money could've been spent better elsewhere.

Todays 5pm traffic was awful. Coming from LA Fitness in Crescent Springs to Simon Kenton took about an hour.

I got off at Turkeyfoot because 275 east was backed up to 75. This has been a common occurrence but i don't drive this trip but 2-3 times a week.

Well apparently they started construction on Turkeyfoot this week. Southbound Turkeyfoot was backed up to Turkeyfoot middle school and the construction doesn't even start for another mile and a half near old Turkeyfoot road. Down to one lane for southbound traffic.

Needless to say I went up Brightleaf to Narrows and then Richardson to Madison Pike. No clue how much more time that would have taken if I had stayed on Turkeyfoot all the way to Bristow.

They started this morning, Brightleaf to Beechgrove. Between the wreck on 275 and getting stuck behind the truck laying the cones on Turkeyfoot this morning, my day started out great!

Guess I am just going to have to go 75 to Richwood moving forward. Hopefully this Turkeyfoot project doesn't take long, moving to Meadow Glen next month.

They say 2 weeks, weather permitting. The last time they did the other section, they got it done quickly. Hopefully it's the same crew.

And welcome to the subdivision. That's where I'm at.

Back roads are your friends, people! Learn them; live them.

If I lived out in "Gods Country" they would be helpful. :lol2:

Won't be soon enough. I'm so sick of the transition from 275E to 471N. It's insane that it backs up almost to the Wilder exit every day.

If you can make it there before 3:00/3:30, it's not that bad.....starts backing up at Three Mile.

All lanes in both directions to be open on August 25th. Maintenance work will continue through November with periodic nightly lane closures.

All Southbound lanes should be open by monday morning.

Any idea on when these jack wagons are gonna ever finish "working" on 75 across the river?

Top deck, southbound I-75 was open last night - all four lanes!!

Does that mean Fort Washington Way is also open to the Brent Spence? That has been the single biggest pain in the backside throughout this entire process.
